Weekend was good! Relaxed Friday. Saturday we went out for a friend's dinner, which was fun. Got a little tipsy. Minor rant as I did get annoyed with said friend. She is not a close one and she asked me about wedding plans. When I discussed it she said "well I'd better get an invite!" I tried to explain to her that it was SUPER small and I was really only inviting BFFs. She got a little rude about it, which irked me.
Sunday I was productive and listed a ton of crap on craigslist. I also narrowed down which camera I want to buy AND found a class to take. I'm excited!
Morning! I'm off today as DS doesn't have school so we're having a "mom and DS" day! Heading to St. Paul to tour the capital and watch Black Panther. Probably doing some other random things too!
Weekend was good. Friday night we all had a blast at the drag show. DD's friend was uber excited about all the naked men collecting donations and he added one guy's contact to his Snapchat. I'm obviously old, cuz I'm like "you don't get phone numbers anymore?!?" The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. Ran errands and was lazy at home. Also took DD to meet my coworker's wife so she could ask her about her career and to get advice about the field since that's what DD is leaning towards for school.
Oh hey! I'm half-back at work - I came home sick AGAIN from vacation (not just me this time- all freaking 12 of us on the trip got either ear, sinus infections, and/or strep). On the plus side, I guess this is the only time in my life I'm consistently losing weight on vacations? LOL. I'm also lucky that our group of 12 included 1 PA and 1 nurse, and the PA was phoning in prescriptions for all of us the second we were back in cell phone range. She was all "Antibiotic and prednisone for YOU, and YOU, and YOU!"
Anyhow, while I'm half working, I'm looking up some local scuba certification classes, because we really loved the dive we did (fortunately that was before we got sick!). I'm trying to figure out who will let us "transfer" our final open water dives to somewhere warm, though, because our choices locally are to do the open water dives in either a lake or a quarry, and neither seems particularly warm or pleasant, even if we wait until summertime.
I'm here! My weekend was overall good. Friday I ended up going out with a friend and we had a nice time. Saturday I got my hair cut and styled and I'm still loving it. My stylist does the best curls and they miraculously stay.
I also ended up talking with a guy I briefly dated. We've been friendly level for a while now, but something about what he said/the way he said it and maybe my hormones (PMS) led to a whole bunch of feelings coming up for me. I out form limits in place with him and won't be reaching out to him for a long while. It did bring up some frustrations for me that go beyond him, but those are nothing new.
Saturday evening I met a friend out, but she was ready to go before I was so she went out first and was on her third drink when I got there, so was ready to go home after. I took myself out to another bar and had random men try to talk to me. One guy did try to add me on Snapchat (don't have it) or Facebook messenger. I offered Instagram and he wasn't thrilled with that, but oh well. Not even trying to get a number?? I'm sure it's a sign he's way too young and I wasn't looking to meet anyone anyway.

Friday, I worked late and then went to my local. Saturday, I worked for a few hours then came home. My plans were canceled so I took a nap and then went out for a beer. A guy gave me his number, then I went home.
Woke up Sunday and found several feet of water in my basement. I am off work for the morning, but it may be for the rest of the day as the water hasn't completely drained.
Maybe 15 feet? He was about 3' long, so a fairly young shark...but still nothing I want to go swimming up to! He swam off when he saw us, which was just fine with me.
The certified divers saw a barracuda on their dive ::shudder:: I think that'd make me pee myself. SaveSave

That's so cool! Insane and NOPE, but cool! I saw a barracuda once when snorkeling and I almost pooped myself.

oh, flopping over and looking UP at the snorkelers was so cool. I was just doing a little back float at 40 or 45' under the water, and waving at everyone swimming up at the surface. SaveSave

What was the shipwreck like?
It's from the 70's, so you can see that it's disintegrated into pieces, but the front and mid parts of the ship are largely intact. It was just teeming with colorful fish (which, along with a certification course, is the next thing I want to learn about. I'd like to be able to say I saw more than a yellow fish, a blue/purple fish, and a black and white striped fish).
Of the islands we went to, St Thomas actually looked LEAST damaged by the hurricanes Good for our dive, but I'm sure it was 100x more colorful last year - most of the coral looked dead instead of vibrant, and not much in the way of anemones for the fish. SaveSave

chalupa, barracudas are fine so long as you're not wearing anything shiny/sparkly! And most sharks will leave you alone so long as you leave them alone...DH and I love seeing them while diving. Good plan about transferring your open water dives someplace warmer, though...I did mine in a quarry in November, and it SUCKED lol.

My weekend involved lots of wine lol. My car unexpectedly died Thursday night, so it was at the dealership getting all new ignition coils on Friday. After picking it up Friday afternoon, DH and I stopped by a local wine shop to do a tasting. We went over to a friend's house Friday night, so I brought a bottle. Saturday, we went to the annual safety meeting for DH's glider club, and then he played designated drive as we stopped by 4 different wineries on the way home. I was good and only bought 5 bottles! Then Sunday, I went wine-tasting with CWs at a little teeny tiny winery where we had a picnic lunch and chatted for a while before I had to go teach my normal Sunday night classes.

Not my video, and I'm bragging a bit here, but this is what we saw on our honeymoon (the videographer was there a couple months after us, but the density/number of sharks and the location were the same):
Your vacation looked amazing, chalupa. I'm glad you had fun!
cuddlyevil, those pictures are terrifying on Facebook. I'm so sorry that happened.
My weekend was short but good. Got to spend time with niece and nephew, saw black panther, and had brunch with a good friend. Also dyed my hair and omg, when I woke up this morning it has turned two or three shades more purple than yesterday. I don't mind, but the lighting made a huge difference this morning.

My basement still has water in it. It's going very slowly now. The police have estimated that 90% of the homes in the affected area have water in their basements. And it's all sewer water.
I have a list of what I had in the basement. Seems that I will be getting reimbursed for it.
I’m sorry cuddlyevil, what a sucky situation. Hope you are feeling better chalupa.
My weekend was good. The weather was gorgeous. Took Penny on a hike on Saturday and did some cleanup in the house. A got me the game ticket to ride for our anniversary so we played that too, it’s really fun! Today is our anniversary so we went to grab a coffee at the place we met and then went out to lunch. We went looking for rings afterwards. I didn’t find what I like, it seems hard to find antique type of rings unless they are online. A local jeweler said they could custom make what I’d like though. 😱
