Thanks for sharing this! I've seen a few of his brother's interviews, where he has mentioned how he was in the process of picking Holden up when the shooting began.

I want to know more about the training and advocacy that the father was talking about, and I wonder if my local law enforcement has something similar.

freezorburn, you could ask your department.

Our department has some training. When we were still doing DARE locally, the officers assigned to each school for the program had some training in special needs and they followed the kids they'd had in 6th through middle and high school.

This is the go-to guy for ASD training for first responders. There's a lot of information on his website.

A school in our area was on lockdown recently because an ASD student posted a threat on social media.
