I can start to see floor in the basement. I am off again this morning, work has been so nice. And my friends are amazing, I have gotten countless offers of laundry and showers. The pictures on the news are frightening, we are on the high side of the road so we didn't get hit quite as bad.
Man, if your situation is not quite as bad as down the road - I can't even imagine cuddlyevil. I hope you can get the rest of the water out and get an insurance person out there soon to assess the damages and loss. Sending you all the hugs.
I have a busy day today with work and then going to get my hair cut and colored tonight.
cuddlyevil I'm glad your friends are stepping up for you. I hope you're able to leave the house to take them up on their offers and that the rest of the water is done getting pumped out soon.
Yesterday was kind of a crappy day here. Just a lot of tough stuff in a variety of ways. I'm glad today is a new day, but I know some of it will linger throughout the week.
I'm looking forward to modern tonight. Regardless of how today goes, I get to end it with class, which should be good.

Glad you have support nearby, cuddlyevil. Yay for booking the wedding venue, bullygirl979! So exciting!
I'm excited for lunch. We were at a winery this weekend that was owned by an Indian couple, and all the suggested pairings were Indian food, and the tasting room smelled like Indian food. So I made chicken and veggie korma for lunches this week. Clearly, I will not be pairing it with wine at work, but it should still be delicious! (And I hope DH likes it, since I made 8 servings lol.)

Thanks. I have to go out no matter what tonight, gotta give the kids and grandma a break. My friend offered to come over so I can get out for a bit, so I may take her up on it. Grandma dropped off my laundry and I cried over having clean clothes.

Thanks PPD! We are on the high side, across the main road got hit so hard. They are documenting everything and submitting it to the state and FEMA. I am friends with the officer who is putting the file together. He is calling me later to bring over bleach and supplies.
neonpink , congrats on the weight loss! Can I ask what you are doing to lose weight?
I am putting everything I eat into my fitness pal and sticking with the calorie goal they set. The big thing is no cheat days, minimal booze consumption and eating really really clean. I've made almost every meal besides a Caulipower pizza since January 23. We have a lot of rep breakfasts and lunches at my office and I'm the girl bringing in my own stuff, but it's working. I've lost 10.6 and my husband has lost 18. He is only eating what I give him and not keeping track on my fitness pal.
For example: Breakfast is Trail mix from Trader Joes (210 calories) and a banana. Snack: 80 calorie yogurt or fruit. Lunch: Last week was burrito bowls 3oz chicken I cook over the weekend in the slow cooker, 1/2 cup black beans, handful of grape tomatoes,2 tablespoons sour cream, raw onion, a little roasted corn and two tablespoons of fresh salsa.
Snack: 1 piece of fruit, or 3 oz of carrots with tzakiki sauce, yogurt, 100 calorie bag of almonds.
Dinner: Lean protein (3-5 oz depending on what it is) more roasted veggies a mix of brussel sprouts, cauliflower rice, roasted garlic and carrots. A lot of fresh vegetation.
I guess you'd say I'm doing low carb/low fat but I still am eating some complex carbs. Bagel thins, melba toast. I'm also being more active. Trying to at least move for 30 minutes a day my fitbit lets me know. I am also back to doing yoga at least 2 days a week, and a stationary bike some nights at home.
I can not have any cheat days. It's a slippery slope for me. I am being very rigid, for example my favorite wine is 96 calories for 4 oz. I ate a piece of fruit and had no room in my budget for the wine. I was so sad but I didn't drink the wine anyway like I would before. For the past few years I've really let snacking, etc get out of control. A few peanut M&M's are ok.... well that thinking had me 30lbs higher than what I should be. If I keep on track I will be back to the weight I was in 2013 and I will be so much happier. I have half a closet of clothes that shame me when I see them all hanging there and I can't wear them.
