I never knew this was a cultural thing. I never 'punderstood when parents called their kid 'mama'.

This was going to be mine. One of my friends calls DD "mama" and I never understood why. It drives me crazy.

I also hate paci and nappy, as well as most of the things posted above. Oh, and when people say they are "KTFU."

I hate mama/mami. But since my Hispanic in-laws are very nice, I just try to ignore it. I never told in-laws or H that I don't like it.

All my friends always say 'hey mama' even before we all had kids, it was more of a friendly glad to see you.
