My last of the three quarterly presentations was yesterday so yahoo about that. I'm going to pick up my new camera today, so I'm excited about that.
Any one have vacation ideas for me? We are doing a faux honeymoon as we have airfare to burn before the end of June. Northeast is out because we need to fly. We want to go somewhere pretty chill, where we can hike, see cool nature, maybe hit up a winery or brewery and just relax. I was thinking Zion then quickly ruled that out as I cannot hike in 95 degree weather. I was also tossing around Lake Tahoe, or Wyoming or Montana...although I'm not sure what else there is to do in Montana/Wyoming besides the national parks. Any ideas?
bullygirl979, I'd do tahoe or reschedule your canceled Sonoma trip. Wine, sunshine, and hiking sounds amazing! Although I'll throw out Colorado, too, since you know we loved it Lots of breweries, not so many wineries. Is your airfare only domestic? If you can get to Canada, I'd HIGHLY recommend Old Quebec
I just submitted my first horse show entry of the year - I must be crazy to be entering a March competition (it's in MD, so a couple hours farther south, but that's not much).

chalupa, I was thinking of Napa, but given that we are spending money on eloping, and a wedding, and this trip in such a short period of time I was trying to find something a little more affordable. Airfare is international too, so I'll look in to Old Quebec. Where in Colorado do you like? I know P has been there a bunch as his brother used to live there but he may still want to go.
YAY for competition. Is this an outside competition?

We loved Breckenridge! It turns into a hiking/mountain biking town in the summertime, so there'd be plenty of restaurants and breweries open.
But if we go back, I want to stay in Estes Park and hike RMNP.
And yep, outdoor competition - first event of the season. I'm crossing my fingers the cross country course isn't a muddy/soupy mess. SaveSave
bullygirl979 there are other places in California that are cheaper than Napa/Sonoma, have hiking, great ocean views, breweries, and aren't ridiculously far from wineries either. You might even know people in one of those places!
I'm okay this morning. Slept a little funky so my neck hurts a little, but I'll be fine. I made apple muffins last night to have for breakfast and they turned out pretty good. They could be a little sweeter or have a little more cinnamon, but for a first attempt I'm proud of myself. I'm going to look for a bread or muffin recipe to use up the pears I have next.
tiramisu, haha. We actually know two people there! I was thinking of your area. It's definitely on my radar! And your muffins sound delicious!
Feel free to message me with any questions! The weather is usually pretty mild, you know we have great breweries, and the food scene has definitely gotten much better over the years.

I'm trying to chug towards the weekend. I've had my period in the worst way this week - terrible cramps, terrible migraines and lethargy. The doctor called in a fourth (!) sleeping pill for me. The last one he gave me helped me get asleep, but as soon as it metabolized in my body after a few hours, I kept waking up all throughout the night. The new one is the same medicine with an controlled release throughout the first half of the night to help keep me asleep.
I am partial to Asheville bullygirl979. Lots of hiking, tons of breweries and some wineries and June is when all the rhododendrons bloom there.
Hahahaha! I'm not that brave - I'm still having some fear issues thanks to falling off a few weeks ago (I guarantee you I will respond to my trainer's "how are you feeling" during our lesson tonight with "about to puke"). Also, I'm definitely not jumping the biggest jumps out there - I'll be in the 2.5' division, not the 3.5'. SaveSave

Bwahahaha. I'd be in the 2.5 INCH division. Don't sell yourself short. 2.5' is still amazing.

bullygirl979, come to Virginia! There are lots of hikes through the Blue Ridge Mountains ranging in difficulty, and with the elevation, I don't think the weather would be too hot. Lots of good breweries/wineries and chill towns.
