Challenge: Many places have recently been teased with Spring only to be smacked in the face with more winter, so get in the Spring spirit, no matter your climate. Do some Spring and/or Easter decorating (if you celebrate), do some Spring cleaning, look ahead at warmer weather clothes or outdoor stuff to see what you have versus what you need (i.e. maybe you need to replace some shorts or the cushions on your patio furniture), or just do anything that gets you looking forward to Spring.
Last week left little time for self care. It feels like we can't seem to go more than a couple of days without someone being sick or injured this winter. I did manage to get in some sewing, just a quick job making some pajama pants for LO. He looooves them, and he has more fabric pulled out that he wants made into pajamas now too.
Despite another full week this week, I am hoping to decorate for Easter. I have lunch plans with friends one day during the week. And apparently I have more sewing to do for LO.
I hoped to get more walking in but if it's warm enough, it's raining. Gah. I've gained over the winter with too much food and beer.
cam, I have some cool robot fabric to make DH some pajama pants, so I should probably get on that. His birthday is the 14th.
LOL, to spring decorating. I bought some festive St. Patrick's Day window clings for dad's room at the memory care and have started to plan a makeover of my mom's small front garden. The previous owners staged what was likely overgrown shrubs with 6 sad little boxwood meatballs and some random roses. She has a lot of shade, so it needs to all come out and be replaced with better options. Plus I have a slip cover to make.
I bought myself some Sketcher ballet flats at Costco yesterday; maybe I should move myself into the retirement community now and save DS the hassle of moving me. Thinking about spring, I have a $200 GC to Lands End burning a hole in my wallet. But I want to drop some weight first.
I had two dates with H this weekend because my mom was visiting this weekend. The first one wasn't much fun but the second one was better, and I had water aerobics class.
I really need to go to sleep earlier. I think that's my biggest self-care challenge, always.
Spring: The only thing I've done so far, other than buy a few plants for the house (this is an addiction of mine; but my brother let all my plants die when he was living in my house when we lived abroad, so I've had to start over), is I bought a handful of pussy willow whips and put them in a huge glass vase with some polished river rock at the bottom. Not terribly complicated, but pretty cool to have in the house. Also have been splurging on cut flowers in general.
