Are there any? I'm planning an August/Sept FET, and also throwing around the idea of an October marathon. For my IVF cycle and fresh transfer I was under pretty strict orders to not run from stimming through week 12, but I'm guessing FETs don't carry ovarian torsion risk and you can pretty much KOKO with normal routine?
I have a planning appointment with my RE in April and will ask then; just curious what others have experienced.
I only did IUI but I was told not to exercise, and than when moved to my OB she did not want my heart rate going over 120 (so running was out), but I was also a medium/high risk pregnancy.
My RE didn't want me working out at all the entire time I was with him after my FET/during early pregnancy. Walking was okay but he really did not want me to put any strain on my body. He was a bit upset and lectured me and H when we told him we were moving and I was starting a new job when I was about 9 weeks along. He told me he wanted me to do none of the moving and packing (which I thought was extreme).
Once I got released to my OB (was with RE till 10 weeks, first appointment with OB was 12 weeks) he was a bit more okay with it and didn't lift my restrictions till I was in the second trimester.
October marathon sounds like heaven! Any one in particular? I signed up for a fall half and I get so excited already thinking about fall running season!
Ohh what half are you doing? Fall running is the best. I've only run 2 marathons so far, but both have been in October.
Im currently looking at 3: Mount Desert Island (Bar Harbor), Mohawk Hudson (NY), and Newport Marathon.

The Gansett Half. It has been on my list for years but with treatments it was just too hard to commit to training for it. I am so excited!
MDI is supposed to be a gorgeous race! Tough choices. I did the Maine Marathon a number of years ago in Portland and thought it was really well organized if you're looking for another option. (I ran the half)
Oh Maine hadn't been on my radar (I was looking at October calendars and its 9/30 - close enough!). I love Portland, so I might throw that one in the mix...
I've never done Gansett, but friends have and enjoyed it. I'm glad it works out for you this year! And OMG you're having a baby like, soon!
Yesterday I signed up up for the New Bedford Half, which is in less than 2 weeks. Why not? Lol.
Thanks, @daylily! I'm hoping for nice weather, too, as I know that course is vulnerable to winds and I'd rather not add rain on top of that! I'm carpooling and running with a friend from my local moms group, so it should be fun I love half marathons. Its my favorite distance.
@daylily you are correct! I ran it a few years ago and it was cold and windy and nasty and I had a stomach bug, but I really want to go back and run it again. scm1011, I quite liked that course
The like was for the course, not the conditions or sickness - poor you! I know that March along the water has the risk of tough conditions, but oh well. Fingers crossed its not too brutal!
This thread has me jonesing for a race! I’m signed up for a trail 25k in April that I won’t bother even trying, because I’d be 20w and it’s terribly tough and hilly. I was thinking that our local Shamrock half might be a good one to aim for next year.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

If you decide on MDI I want a recap!! That race is a bucket list race for my mom and I. My family has a vacation house on the island and I just love whenever we get to go up there.

Will do! I'm leaning towards that one (if I decide to do a full). Maybe you should join me?
