We have friends coming to visit for the weekend. They just told me their ETA was noon on Friday. I work till 6. DH will get off between 3:30-5. They don't seem to care and asked if they could stop and get my house keys but I feel like a crappy hostess anyways. They know I have to work over the weekend but still want me to go to dinner and do stuff too.
DD and I have tickets to the last home gymnastic meet on Saturday and we are ditching everyone to go. I need the 3 hour meet to just veg out. DH and friends all made plans so again no biggie but I still feel like a crappy hostess.

DH and I chaperoning DD's class field trip tomorrow. About 2/3s of the class parents are also chaperoning, so it should be pretty easy (responsibility-wise) and DH and I will maybe have to keep track of one other student. I'm hoping to have time to stop at Panera on the way to the museum to get breakfast.

We have a vendor in from Germany this week and they want to take us out to dinner. Don't get me wrong, I love free food, but I really really really don't feel like going out and socializing, especially since I can barely understand them with their accents. I just want my pjs and my book.

My car has been at the dealership since 9am. It is now 4:07pm, they still do not know what is wrong with the "theft deterrent system" and I need my car back tonight because DH works tomorrow. Or, I at least need a rental and the kids' seats.
Ds and I are trying to schedule his classes for next year. He has talked to his teachers and I have emailed every one to get a recommendation for his level next year, he will move up in all if his courses and will have 2 honors classes. I have talked to his advisor about early college.
So they are having a parent meeting tonight from 5:30- 7. Ds is out of town overnight on a field trip. I told him I was going to go without him and he was like, why? The schedule is pretty much set. So I'm like, why are they even having a meeting. I haven't talked to another parent of a future sophomore going. So now, I may not ? I don't want to be one of those uninvolved parents you hear teachers complain about, but damn, don't waste my time. I worked until 8:30 last night and have a church council meeting tomorrow night, I don't need more to do.
rere - I missed two meetings on the same week when DD had the flu. The two I attended they said attending one is enough. Then why have FOUR and bill them as separate, unique sessions??!! Bail!
Also, this weekend Move Bitch came on while we were driving in traffic. DD said it was like someone listened to me in traffic and made it a song (mom fail but also amused me). That led to a “hot or not” convo about recording artists. We agree on most except she thinks Snoop is attractive. I showed her Fifty Cent and Snoop side x side and asked how she possibly thinks both are attractive when one clearly is and one clearly is at minimum less so. I am now irrationally worried my grandchildren will look like dachshunds.

The service dept thinks my phone charger triggered the warning. The phone charger has been plugged in for like 2 straight years. So, I'm not convinced but whatever. They are clearing it and sending me on my way.
I called DH to tell him the news. He asked how much it was going to cost and I said at least the $110 diagnostic test fee. He got pissy because we pulled into a car parts store yesterday morning after I scheduled my appt to see if their test would work and I could maybe cancel my appt. It pulled up nothing. DH is pissy because we are paying for a test we had done for free yesterday. I don't know how the dealer would know how to even begin to fix the issue if they didn't run the test though. I asked him what I did wrong and got a "nothing" that I could tell was a crock so this should be a fun drive to pick up my car.
Guys. I have 300 people flying in tomorrow with this ridiculous nor'easter messing up flights left and right. Just slightly panicking about how we'll handle all this chaos. Yesterday and today I actually had time to read a book for a couple hours in the sun. And now karma is catching up with me. Ugh!
