Does anyone here subscribe to audible? I know if you use at least one audio book a month it ends up being a good value, but otherwise is there additional value or features?
I will probably do the free month in a few days (I need it to fully overlap with our two vacations), but the samples I've heard on Amazon are less than impressive. They sound like computers reading books, not even a real human. Are some recordings better than this?
I do! I’ve been subscribed for a few years. I first did the 2 credits a month and then went down to 1. I mostly listen to podcasts now so i don’t use it as much. You get discounts on books, so if you are out of credits, you can buy them for cheaper.
So are you saying there is an option to use it that isn't $15 a month? I must be blind. I only saw a monthly subscription fee and nothing else.
I did the free trial. I listened to Game of Thrones and a few other titles. No complaints with the audiobook quality.
I've recently started using Hoopla which is free through our local library. Obviously not quite the unlimited selection of Audible, but fits my needs just fine.

Is it a free way to check out audible books, or a totally different service all together? I'll see what my library has

Free! Downloaded the app, linked up my library card, and I'm good to go. It was great last week when I left for a weeklong trip and totally forgot to pack a book.
ewall Our library does have Hoopla! Thanks so much. I had to dig around and search for it because it isn't marketed anywhere on the main website, other than as a tv resource. I had no idea it did audio. Much thanks
