It depends. Do they feed into the same middle school? I would go with whichever feeds into the MS you want to be so friends can stay together. Only because it’s your forever home.
Nope. The convenience factor makes me want to go to the one by us, the friend factor wants me to stay with where we're zoned.
A few blocks vs 1 mile isn’t that big of a convenience factor if they can’t walk alone anyway. We are 1.5 miles away and it literally takes 3 minutes to drive there including parking time. If I could watch them walk to school from my window it may make a difference but a few blocks is probably driving anyway.
And we would have to pay for bussing so we chose not to bus.
Unless traffic is bad I don't see much of a difference driving two blocks and having to sit in drop off and pick up lines versus a mile away and the potential maybe for bussing which is super convenient. I can't wait until both kids are bussed next year after 7.5 years of drop offs and pick ups.
Thanks to my hectic schedule and limited hours, I am off at 1:00 tomorrow. I think I will begin spring cleaning. Dh thinks I'm nuts, and is refusing to help me move furniture. Whatevs, I can move it myself.
My class got into the whole school safety discussion today. You could tell they were actually anxious. I was at a loss on how to make them feel better. I talked to the resource officer and he says they are taking this hard, there was a false threat last week. His theory is the Snapchat videos from the classrooms where kids could hear and see is making seem very real to them. I think he has a point.
I’m doing ok after the D&C. I had a follow up appointment today. They got tests back that confirmed I had a type of molar pregnancy (complete mole) that is more likely to have tissue spontaneously start growing back (15-20% chance). So they’ll be monitoring my HCG levels to make sure they go down to zero and stay there. I’m down to 9,000 from a high of over 1 million.
I’m disappointed that this pregnancy didn’t work out and frustrated that our timeline for close spacing has been disrupted, but I’m starting to feel excited about the freedom of not being pregnant for the summer. I’ve spent the last 4 summers either pregnant or BF a baby, so I’m excited to be able to wear whatever I want and not have my mobility restricted. And to have as many margaritas as I want.
I went to tee ball practice yesterday. The dads are doing a great job! DD was actually catching, throwing, and hitting the ball. Granted, she doesn’t throw or hit as far as the boys, but she’s trying. We are going to go practice today at the park.
DS picked up DD’s bat and was knocking the stuffing out of the ball off the tee with it. That’s going to annoy DD, I’m sure. He’s only 3 and he can hit harder than she can. But he can’t catch yet.

I was envisioning walking. I'm not sure if it would be practical, but I never went to school in a car unless it was raining... a 2 block walk would take all of 2-3 minutes.
Hello everyone! I'm finally back from vacation and a work trip. Last week DH and I went to Iceland and it was fantastic. The landscape is unlike anything in the US - geysers, volcanoes, glaciers, ice caves, and waterfalls everywhere! We also were able to see the Northern Lights after 3 tries! I highly recommend Iceland to anyone who is looking for an adventure! Last Sunday, we arrived home at 6pm and then I had to leave again Monday morning for a work trip to Tampa. Now I am happy to be home in PA. This weekend, I plan on hanging with my family and getting ready for DS2's 1st birthday party on Sunday. How did my little boy get to 1 so fast?

We hired a contractor for our master bath remodel! Work will start in August so it’s time to start shopping. We have a very good idea of what we want, now it’s just find it and putting it together.
My days off this week have been prepping for spring break. I wanted to have a play date but the cat had been puking in the playroom rug, and I think peeing on it. So one day was spent shampooing carpets and getting DD a summer wardrobe.
I still still smell gas in the house so after having the furnace company come out twice I called the gas company. The gas company of course turned off our gas, and we had to call a plumber so he is trying to fix it. Then I have to call the gas company to turn it back on. I hope it all doesn't fall apart and we have no heat. I just don't want to have play dates over (or live here myself) with a gas leak in the basement playroom. And I've smelled gas since our furnace broke back in January. And the n between then and now like I said the furnace company has been out twice.
Plus I did a little work today. So much for days off. I might have to take a day off next week although I do have a off site meeting one day and could just go home in the afternoon. I have 3 events after school next week. It's just looking crazy. I might skip the Cub Scout event. It's just a learning event I don't think badge related.
So really I have had no downtime the last two weeks and won't have any until spring break.

How exciting! I've gone through 3 renos and loved it. Well not all of it, but you know what I mean. It's so nice to have something exactly to your tastes.
I should probably flee the country now. DH doesn't even know how to log into the bank the proceeds were wired to. I don't think he even knows what bank the proceeds were wired to or that we have an account there.
saraml13 I hope your recovery is smooth. Thinking of you.
My big update is my parents are selling their business of 37 years today. They can sleep in, go to the gym during the day, do whatever they want. I'm so happy for them. As some of you know, being a small business owner has some serious stressors that are different than working for agencies or private companies, and I'm just so happy that they don't have to worry anymore. Not to mention they can take a vacation!!
They haven't been able to tell people about it, but it should be official by the end of today or tomorrow morning. I'm having a St Pattys day party with extended family tomorrow so I guess they will tell family then!
