Nothing special. I seriously need to finish my taxes. I think we may go to a restaurant for lunch tomorrow as they are on our catering short list. I also want to go over menus with P. We have four good (IMO) options for caterers so I'd like to ensure we'd want to do try the food/consider all four. Designer is coming over on Sunday for some final touches on the bedroom.

Sorry for all this wedding talk but looking for opinions. We talked to a photographer, whom we both really liked. I don't want a wedding album as I doubt I'd ever really look at it. I would like some pictures of us at our ceremony and at the dinner to hang in our house. However, the photog will costs a couple of grand. I think her prices are reasonable, as my photog for my first wedding was more expensive, and that was 14 years ago.
Is it silly to spend that much for a bunch of pictures? If I trusted someone at the party to take decent pics that'd be one thing, but I honestly don't.
bullygirl979 no, I don't think it's ridiculous to spend money on pictures. I mean pictures were a huge priority for my wedding (and would be if I ever get married again) so obviously that's my bias, but I think they're a great way to go.
I'm so looking forward to the weekend. This evening I'm going out with friends to belatedly celebrate one of their birthdays. Tomorrow I'm going to watch the St Patrick's Day parade in my city and am trying to decide what I'll do in the evening. Sunday I'm planning to just rest and recover, meal prep for the week, etc.
I'm on call tonight for job #2. I could use the money but really don't want to go out...the eternal struggle!
I have zero plans for the rest of the weekend. I might go out tomorrow night with the cop since it's St. Patrick's Day and well, I haven't been out since January. Otherwise, it's boring adult stuff...grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, blah blah blah.

We made it! DH is supposed to go gliding tomorrow...I'm debating whether to go with him or catch up on work (I'm way behind on one project). Sunday, I'm going wine tasting with CWs and teaching. I also need to get a few more things planted outside this weekend (all my carrots and more parsley and cilantro, if I remember correctly). My broccoli and Brussels sprouts and a few tomato plants have sprouted inside, so hopefully everything else sprouts soon!
I'm team spend money on the photographer. When it's all over you have your memories and the pictures to document them. Well...and a husband but that's a given ;-) A good photographer would be a top priority if it were me.
Tonight I'll do nothing except sip wine and read on my couch while I get puppy snuggles.
Tomorrow I have a spa appointment booked. I'm getting a thirty minute body scrub followed by a sixty minute massage. I also have a manicure booked. Tomorrow night my girlfriends are taking me to my favorite Mexican place for my birthday. Yes, Mexican on St. Patrick's Day is appropriate.

So, funny story. I am normally very shy and introverted and not prone to small talk or talking about myself. Last week, I was leaving work, and there was a guy from the company next door in the elevator, too. This was the day that our CEO had announced massive layoffs but no one knew who yet, so I was pretty stressed out. The guy said hi and started making small talk, which normally I would have shut down pretty quickly, but since I was so stressed out, I spilled the beans that my company was having major layoffs. He said that his company might be hiring soon, but then we got to the ground floor, and I didn't get his last name or email. Fast forward to yesterday, and I'm looking through my LinkedIn list and found a 1st degree contact on there who is a recruiter at his company. On a whim, I sent her a message asking if she knew about the opportunity or could put me in contact with him. Well, I have an informational phone call with her later this afternoon. It's not a formal interview, but still...I'm going to laugh if this pans out into something, since it was totally against my nature to say anything to the guy in the elevator, so it will be very ironic if it does work out.
In addition, I got a request for a real interview for a different position next week! Eeeek!
I am so glad we made it. I am on kitty duty this weekend, so tonight I'm going to hang with them and do laundry. Tomorrow I am getting my haircut and then going to my local to meet up with a few of the regulars (I stopped in last night and two asked me if a) I was coming back after the kid thing and b)when I was going to be in next). Sunday is more kitty snuggles!
mags I'm just catching up on this week's posts. Hugs to you and your dad, and I hope you can sneak in a bit of relaxation in this weekend.
bullygirl979 I have zero regrets about spending thousands on photography. I think it was incredibly worth it.
Work kicked my ass again this week, so I'm doing more retail therapy this weekend - M and I are going to finally furnish our empty living room. I've picked out about half the items already, so we'll just be popping in and out of stores to grab what we want. We will also still need to find some area rugs - one for the empty room, and one for the just-ruined dining room rug. (Thank you annoying corgi, for the poopslosion this week. We didn't like that rug anyway).
And it is going to FINALLY stop snowing an warm up on Sunday. I hear some loooong sunny trail rides calling my name this weekend.

chalupa, I've had A TON of luck online shopping for rugs. There are two stores I use, Rugs USA and Rugs Direct. I've found them much cheaper than shopping IRL.
