So we leave tomorrow to go down to my parents before leaving for our vacation. H had to replace a part on the car last night and today the lights came on again for the same thing. Really??? So H is going to take PTO tomorrow instead of working at home so we can figure out wtf is going on. Why does this have to happen RIGHT before we leave? And I don't think all our crap will fit in my car I hope we can figure out what's wrong and that it isn't super expensive!

What's the light for and what has he already replaced? T

The oxygen sensor. He replaced it last night and reset everything. Went to work and the car was running better, then on the way home the lights came on again. The code reader gave us the same thing again. H googled and it could be a few different things. He called the parts store and they said if it was a defective part it would have given a different code.
estrellita the good news is an O2 sensor code usually isn't critical! I'd give it another drive cycle (literally drive the car for more than 5 to 10 minutes) and see if it goes away on its own.

Do you think it will? He drove around a few places in town plus the 15ish miles each way into town. It only came back on about halfway back home, so like less than 10 miles away. I'm afraid to drive too far on our vacation without knowing for sure everything is ok. H says if we still drive it we might get bad gas mileage (which he was already getting before). I'd really prefer to fix it before we go but ugh. Such a pain to deal with this right now!
suzv- my house/life todo list is so long and I keep ignoring it. Thankfully dh has been doing some of it. But some of it he can’t do, well or won’t. (I need to break out my new to me sewing machine to hem a whole bunch of stuff, so then we can hang some drapes and such that I hem.)
luv2rn4fun- I have had dreams like that before, they are terrifying.
HoneySpider- I’m not sure if you mentioned this before but are your landlords selling because you are leaving?
amaranth- sitting on the couch doing nothing is my strategy to get stuff done when I am stressed too.
wanderingenough- I don’t check in nearly as much as I used to either. I hope you feel better soon though.
wineandcheese- I am glad you got less snow then predicted.
estrellita- did either of you get gas recently? My old cars O2 sensor light used to come on if the gas cap wasn’t closed all the way. (Making sure, with that car, you heard 3 clicks of the cap when it closed) once I made sure I was doing this the light never came back on.
So far this week has been busy. The rest of the week will be fairly busy as well.
Thurs- pedicure. It’s been years since I’ve had one.
Fri- seeing a cousin of mine that I have not seen in a while. She is here on a work conference. I’m excited. (She lives in Arizona.)
Sat- we are seeing my parents for lunch. They are doing a day trip about an hr from us so we figured that it’s close enough to meet for the afternoon.

awick14, she had told us she was thinking of selling but that if we wanted to stay we could. Then literally the same day the house that we're buying came on the market, she told us that night that she decided to sell no matter what. We think it was a sign this house was meant to be.

awick14ewall H went to the auto parts store and they reset it again. Didn't come back on in the 15ish mile drive home. FIL poked around a bit too but didn't seem to find anything. Hopefully it was just a random fluke! The auto parts guy also said worst case scenario the car emits more than it should and bad gas mileage which aren't ideal but not trip canceling worthy
DH got his flight booked for his work trip. In 19 days he leaves for 13 days. We have spent months apart when we were engaged but this is the longest trip since we got married and first trip since C was born.

((Hugs)) bk1. I hope all the parents step up and give you breaks throughout that time. Doesn’t help with missing your DH but hopefully it isn’t too bad being solo so long with the girls. You are a great mama and will do an amazing job

My ILs are leaving the same day for vacation. They will be gone less then a week though and MIL has already told me she plans on taking G overnight after they get back. It'll be a long 13 days but the longest trip he will have in the foreseeable future.

Thanks ladies! He didn’t hear anything today but isn’t giving up hope yet. He’s still applying for jobs and is trying to not feel down. My bff worked in HR and told him that there is still a chance he will get a call. Since he was the first of the 5 people they interviewed, they can be behind.
Did I tell you guys about the mystery disappearing soap and skin care items I have in the shower? It’s finally been solved. Apparently my manly man of a husband has been using it. The same guy I had to buy lotion for men (it had to say for men on the bottle) and literally hold down in the summer to put lotion on when he had some chafing areas. “Lotion is for wimps and women” He’s been using my charcoal soap, my $30 face cleanser and $35 face exfoliating mask. He likes how it cleans his face, how soft his face is and that they “take the black things out of his nose.” I couldn’t figure out why I was running out so quickly. Now I know lol.
Ugh, had a migraine start around 5pm today while I had friends and their kids over. Thankfully H was home tonight because I crawled upstairs around 5:30 and didn't get out of bed til 10:30. I finished prepping lunches for the week, just had dinner, and now to try to go back to bed til the alarm goes off at 5 am.
I think I need to go back to the doc for prescription migraine meds again (Mine expired last year, so have been just relying on Excedrine, pop, ice pack, and a dark room). I've been postponing going to the doc because I am going to be seeing the RE again next month. But if meds will help in the meantime, might be worth my while.
Hey, MrsMB , I've got an HR/hiring question for you - If you're hiring for a technical position, would you consider formal education or professional certifications more important?
Certifications. 9 times out of 10, they've asked for that over degree. That's MY experience at 2 different companies. But I'm sure it could vary.
