Does anyone have any good recommendations for a good travel stroller? I used a McLaren over the weekend and it seemed like it was just as much work as our Bob (granted it was a 5 year old version so maybe they have improved since then...)
I hate the idea of dropping hundreds of dollars...
I always wanted the one G22 had but was too cheap to buy it. It folded up super small and was easy to open - looked amazing. I have a Quinny Zapp that I use for travel and I would not recommend it as a travel stroller since unfolding and closing the damn thing one-handed is a nightmare. It's easier now that A can stand beside me, but not good for babies.
I have a Pockit stroller! I love love love it! It folds up small enough to fit into a bag and under an airplane seat. It's been one of the top 5 best things I bought for Z.
The umbrella stroller is one of the very few things we still have from DS! I’m a little sad that we won’t get to see how these have improved since we bought ours in 2012 or whenever. We splurged on the UB G-Lite, and it’s great. I wish we’d done the Luxe, since it reclines and the Lite doesn’t, but we specifically bought it for our big European sabbatical trip, and thought every ounce mattered. We ended up carrying it a lot, up and down train platforms and that kind of thing, so it was helpful to be very light. I see them on CL sometimes.
The one that people raved about in my group - pre-Pockit! - is the Chicco Liteway. Very affordable.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Oooo good question, we're also looking for something to take on our trip this summer. I'm thinking about the summer infant 3d lite. I'm also going to be stalking facebook marketplace so try to snag something used.
Not sure what counts as affordable but I went with the Mountain Buggy Nano (which was affordable to me, because otherwise I was thinking of getting the Yoyo). I wanted one that folded smaller than a traditional umbrella stroller but didn't feel flimsy. And the fact that you can strap a infant carseat or even the Costco Scenera onto it was the tipping point for me - makes it super easy to wheel around in the airport if you are bringing a carseat while traveling.
We bought the g-luxe specifically because of the recline. We wanted ds to be able to lean back and nap while we traipsed around Greece. Still using it 4 years later and still love it. It’s not what I consider “cheap”, but I don’t know your budget. If you want really inexpensive there are a lot of plain umbrella strollers out there. We have one of those too and it’s fine. We leave it at grandmas house to use when we are there.

damnit, now I want BOTH of those, lol. And we were hoping to be really cheap on this because we just needed to buy 3 convertible car seats to the tune of almost a grand...
but we DO travel a lot...in S's short life of 8 months he has been through the airport 4 times already with another trip in a week...could be worth it. I wish I lived in an area where I could find a good used stroller like this, but everyone here only has Bobs or cheap umbrella strollers.

One thing I have embraced with having a baby is that there are some things that are just worth throwing money at - and convenience is one of them. Like pre-baby, I HATED paying for checked luggage. And now I always do it because paying that $30 is so worth it to not have another thing to haul through security, around the airport, on and off the plane, in and out of the overhead bin, all with a baby in tow, you know?
I have some friends who have SO MUCH BABY GEAR - a city stroller, a mall stroller, a jogging stroller, a beach stroller/wagon, 4 different baby carriers and backpacks, 3 pack and plays for traveling, for the grandparents and for the beach house, all the playthings, etc etc etc. I'm not into that - I definitely lean toward being a minimalist. But if I find something that is going to make my life easier AND that I know I will get a lot of use out of, I am 100% comfortable spending money on it.
