I recently started Invisalign treatment, and am using it as a springboard to reform a variety of diet habits. One is that now that I can't drink anything but water (or seltzer) with my trays in, I'm ... not drinking anything else, unless it's actually during a meal. I used to carry a Contigo coffee mug all the time; out with that habit and in with a water bottle for when I am out and about.
I want one that I don't have to unscrew to drink from, so I am looking at the Hydroflask, either wide mouth with the straw lid, or standard mouth with the sport cap, or Kleen Kanteen with a sport cap. Dishwasher safe (for the lid) is a big plus. Any opinions or recs either way? Or other bottle suggestions?
Hydro Flasks are amazing. I highly recommend them. I have a 40oz with a straw lid that I use for water, a few 20oz wide mouths for coffee, and a 22oz tumbler for tea/smoothies/etc. They really do keep your hot liquids hot and your cold liquids cold, and they're super durable. My mom accidentally threw hers across a parking lot and under a truck once, and it was completely fine.
I love my hydro flask with wide mouth straw lid. I’ve used the same bottle for years. The lids and straws are cheap and easy to replace as needed. I also love my yeti with straw lid.

My husband has a portable human 32 ounce bottle - he says it keeps water cold forever. I can’t speak for it. I use a swell bottle that I refill all day long.
Another Hydroflask lover! I have a 12oz coffee and 18 & 32 oz widemouth, with the flip lid or traditional screw cap because I'm not a fan of straws or sport caps. The 12 & 18oz z fit in my car's cupholder and is easier for my small hands to hold on to, so that's what I use most of the time. The 32oz hangs out next to my bed in case I get thirsty during the night.
I use my Contigo coffee mug for water. I just refill it with water after I have my coffee in the morning and I even take it with me to the gym. We have a bunch of water bottles at home and I prefer the Contigo.

I prefer the Contigo Glacier for water. It's a flip-top bottle. Keeps water icy cold all day, easy to open/close one-handed. The only challenge would be walking and drinking at the same time, as I have a bit of a problem with pouring water down myself. But if I stop moving first (and I should, because I tend to choke if I am drinking and walking) it's great. Also PERFECT for summer daytime lap swim, when the bottle is sitting in direct hot sun. My water is still cold through the workout.

Good to know
I think I might get the 18 oz wide mouth. I figure if I'm (mostly) giving up sipping coffee and diet soda throughout the day I deserve a pretty new bottle to drink my water from, right?

Ha, I didn't think to clarify that it meant it would probably fit in other cup holders if that's important, or in a normal sized water bottle pocket of a bag or backpack. If we go hiking and want backup water for our way home the 32oz just gets dropped on the floor of the car and rolls around until we track it down to take a drink because that sucker doesn't fit in any cupholders I've tried.
And they have some pretty new colors that they just added!

I love my Under Armour one: tinyurl.com/ycxnmx4q I had one for three years and then got a new one, which has lasted almost three years so far. DH also has one and loves it. Keeps my water cold forever.
The kids have contigos: tinyurl.com/ya7p7o2c They like them, but I don't like the spout on that one.
