I have a question...if you take your kids to the mall for pictures with Santa, Easter bunny, do you pay for the pictures or just use the ones you take with your phone?
I am not sure if our mall requires that you buy them. When we went for Santa pictures my dad insisted that we buy them even though the ones I got were much better, which isn’t saying much because the boys refused to smile. It was kind of a waste of money if I could just use my own. Debating what to do about the Easter bunny...hoping they are better by later this week to take them, maybe Thurs.
luv2rn4fun At our mall you can visit for free but pics must be bought. No cell phone pics allowed. It was $10 for 2 (crappy) 5x7s but I'm glad we got them anyhow. I had missed the (much better quality) and free 5x7s another place in town does earlier this month and we just happened to be at the mall at the right time on Saturday so we did pics.
The last couple days has been filled with so much poop! G had 3 terrible diapers yesterday that meant quick bath after each one. She woke up this morning saying her body didn't hurt anymore. So glad she is feeling better.
I know! I feel a bit bad for not trying it myself but there was so much to do an my Mom enjoys making desserts. They are blue velvet, which tastes amazing!
@opal, happy birthday! Those cupcakes are adorable. luv2rn4fun, our mall doesn't allow cell phones pics either. They make you buy the ridiculously expensive package. Luckily we can usually manage a free photo from one of the local garden center events or an event my school is throwing.
G is going through something. I think it's a combo of a whole bunch of things, 7th wonder week leap, on the verge of walking, constant ear infections/fluid build up, teething a few new teeth, saying some more words/noises, transitioning to eating more solid food, accepting dairy into his diet. It's a lot! His sleep has been really messed up this weekend. But, at one point this weekend he was walking with his little push walker down the hallway. I yelled, "Bye, G!" and he turned around gave me the biggest smile/wave combo, and then kept on walking down the hallway. I feel like it was one of those moments I will remember forever. He's so stinkin cute I can't take it sometimes.
Also, today is my first day not bringing my pumping bag to work. I just can't do it anymore. My supply has been on a steady decline since G stopped nursing a few weeks ago. I never wanted to EP, but I begrudgingly did it because I had the milk. But now that I don't get much, I'm down to just morning and night pumping. I'm about to get two full hours of my day back and I'm giddy with excitement about almost being completely done. Part of me is sad that I came up a bit short of my goal to make it a full year. I have some milk frozen that will take him into the eleventh month at least. But I'm damn proud of what I've done given the many, many challenges and people telling me I could never do it back at one month old. As an aside, nursing/pumping for two kids has completely destroyed my boobs LOL. There's almost nothing left. RIP pre baby boobs!
We had J's party this weekend too. It was his first party with lots of his friends invited, and it was barely controlled chaos. But so fun! Our house currently looks like a toy store.
Two more weeks of maternity leave left. I will really miss this.

@opal, those cupcakes are so cute!
We haven't taken DS to the mall for Santa/Easter bunny, we've done Santa at the local Civil War fort the last 2 years - it's free/you just take your own photos. The first year he was only 4 months and kind of didn't know what was going on, this past year he freaked out - so I was glad we didn't pay for anything! I need to find something similar for the Easter bunny. We ended up not doing anything last year and won't again this year.
We survived our first vacation as a family of four. DS1 had to make it eventful by spraining his foot two days before we left and getting a walking boot.
Our friends are having a baby this week. Her due date was yesterday and they have an induction date for Friday. It's their first and I'm so excited for them and to meet the baby.

((Hugs)) Blue Moon. Sorry about the regression and being done nursing (although yay for less pumping)!! Huge congratulations on making it this far! You are amazing and have overcome so much!
tacocat- glad you guys survived but am sorry to hear about DS1 spraining his ankle 🙁
Thanks ladies! I guess I thought it was weird that they let you take pictures but still charge for the package (the cheapest is $35 + $10 for the digital...and I only really care for the digital).
I took L to the pediatrician today. No infections, lungs are clear...which is obviously great but doesn’t explain his crappy sleep (except he’s sick and clearly having trouble sleeping). He took another 35 min nap today. Tonight should be interesting.
Oh, speaking of, I have been sleeping on the couch with the baby monitor (I have to sleep at an incline). DH comes down this morning and tells me I have it set on c’s room (I always have it left on L) because he hears coughing. No DH, that’s L coughing and it’s been going on all night 😂
How are you and the boys feeling today luv2rn4fun?
L is just waking up. He’s coughing quite a bit on the monitor. Coughed a ton during the first part of the night til about 11, was up at 4-4:30 off and on.
I was up coughing and wheezing like crazy til 11 too. So tired from lack of sleep. I do feel like I felt a lot better yesterday vs the weekend...it’s just the night time cough/wheeze that is horrible. I also didn’t get any break yesterday since I had to take L to the doctor...I had him take a nap a little early and put C down late (he just plays anyways) so my step mom only had to watch the monitor vs entertain C.
Fuuuuck.. went to grab wipes from the diaper bag. The small cooler was still in there. With almost 2 ounces of milk. It's a bottle she already drank from and it wasn't cold anymore. Ugh!!!!!! Made it almost 4 months without this happening. Has anyone ever done a milk bath? I'm not sure how to do it with just a couple ounces. It's not like this amount is going to mean supplementing luckily but I'm still upset
luv2rn4fun Big hugs. I hope you feel better soon. Hard enough with sick little ones, but much harder when you are sick as well.
estrellita Noooo! Ugh How frustrating! Sorry friend.
We went grocery shopping. C vomited all over herself/carseat on the way home. UGH! Poor baby. G was a crying mess yesterday and today finally seems closer to normal and now C is sick. At least we have food at home so it's okay that we are home bound? I gave C a quick bath, put all the groceries up, and now I have to start more laundry. Plus it's gonna be a bitch getting the carseat cleaned up tonight. I can't get the thing uninstalled so I have to wait for DH to get home to clean it. I just want to run away from all the germs in my house. Ewwwwww.

Oh no bk1 🙁 C did that a couple months ago on the way to the pediatrician for his 3 year appointment. I am not going to lie...taking the car seat apart, Cleaning it, and putting it back together was not easy...especially since I had two kiddos (sick ones at that) to manage at the same time. Huge huge ((Hugs)). You have all my sympathy...I might have cried that day, it was just one of those moments that tipped me over.
Thank you! I am feeling better and it seems like L is a little as well. Both boys are cranky though and I don’t have much patience left. Poor L is trying to nap but I just keep watching him lay down and sit back up 🙁. It’s so frustrating that he won’t sleep.
I am hoping L turned a corner yesterday. He had a horrible nap (finally fell asleep after 1.5 hours for maybe 20 min...he kept trying and wasn’t crying so I let him stay). He was such a happy guy in the afternoon. His cough still sounded bad when he coughed, which was less. He even STTN!!! I was coughing a lot still but at least I got a little more rest! I hope he goes back to napping decently today!
DH is now sick (although he will say he isn’t because “he doesn’t get sick”). He is not fun to be around right now and I can’t wait for him to be at work. Part of it is totally my fault because I have zero sympathy for him since he isn’t helpful when I am sick. What goes around comes around dude.
I swear A is teething. How long do they show signs before a tooth starts popping through? I still don't see or feel anything but she's drooling, chewing on her hands like crazy, and pretty fussy. She's also gassy though so I'm not sure what the deal is. We give her probiotics and gas drops. She slept great on vacation but the last couple days have been terrible. I just wish I knew what was wrong! I really hate this guessing game!

My A was showing signs around 4 months, and the first two teeth both popped through the week she was turning 9 months.

I think we're going to pick up some Tylenol for her and see if that helps. We only have ibuprofen and she's not old enough! She hasn't seemed as gassy today but still fussy and drooling/chewing on hands as usual. So maybe it is teeth? Ugh. E was such a unicorn baby until he got older and started his screaming fits so I'm not used to this!
We went out to dinner tonight to a place I have a gift card to. Just as we pulled into the parking lot I asked DH if he brought the gift card because I had not. Nope. We decide to eat anyways since we were there (I just told DH I would pay for it out of my “fun money”). While there at the table next to us is a very nice older gentleman that was just loving L. They were waving, making faces, and playing peek-a-boo. I thought it was so nice because usually eating out with L is a challenge. Anyways, we are ready to leave and ask for our bill only to find out that the gentleman had paid our bill already. There are no words for how generous he was. I have heard of stories like this but never experienced it either first hand or through someone I know.
L seemed to be doing much better today but I thought I noticed a wheeze earlier. Sure enough he was wheezing at bedtime. It did settle as he nursed so I hope this doesn’t get worse. It was only 1 hour since his last breathing treatment.

What a sweet man I've had something similar happen once. I was out to eat with my grandma, mom, C and G. There was a younger man who loved seeing how my grandma interacted with G and C and it reminded him of his grandma. We were so surprised and touched to find out he paid for our meal. Such a sweet thing.

Thinking of L tonight!
Yes, he told me during dinner that L reminded him of his 1 year old grandson! Both DH and I were in complete shock when the waiter told us. Very very kind and generous!
Thank you! He STTN again (2x this week...I won the lottery LOL)! Hopefully the wheeze stays away. I know my lungs are destroyed from this cold (but my asthma isn’t controlled like we are trying to do for him).
I'm pissed. I contacted my insurance company about the bill I got for my postpartum checkup. They're treating me like an idiot and not addressing my concerns. They said they didn't deny the claim, that my benefits reset and this appointment was partially covered and the rest applied to my deductible for this year. Duh. I know that. Why won't they tell me why a stupid 6 week checkup isn't fully covered? Isn't this standard care that should be covered under the ACA? I'm so confused why I'm responsible for so much. We can't afford this right now, especially because H thinks we need a $400+ part for his car. And we start paying for A in daycare next week. I shouldn't be stressing this much over a stupid doctor's appointment!!

My post partum check ups were not fully covered. They had the same partial coverage as my other maternity care (like 90/10 or whatever). Hopefully someone else has a more informed answer, but I thought the rules were that they offer some coverage in specific areas, not full coverage in all those areas. That is what my quick google search seems to indicate.
