What's new in your world?
I went out to lunch with my mentor at a new restaurant nearby, so that was nice. A former CW who was just laid off said that he's hearing rumors of another large round of layoffs in 6 months or so. I'm not sure where he's getting his information from, but I want to know why he heard more than I do when I still work at this company! I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that one of the positions I interviewed for pans out.
Some quince plants that I ordered and was not expecting until Thursday-ish showed up yesterday. They're live, not bare root. So I need to keep them alive for a few days until I can get them in the ground. I figured they were probably shipped unrefrigerated, so I left them outside to minimize any temperature shocks. I hope that was the right call. Last year, I ordered some right before an unforeseen cold snap, so I kept them inside for a week or two, and 3/4 of them were dead when I went to plant them, despite being in a sunny window and being watered daily. So, hopefully keeping them outside this time helps....

I'm supposed to be studying while S is napping. But I'm having trouble staying focused. That's about it. Just chilling at MG's brother's house.
Yesterday's hike was wonderful and exactly what I needed. Still confused about the guy, but that's nothing new. Today I took my coffee over and sat in a park near my apartment to relax and enjoy both the coffee and nature. It was really wonderful. I have to decide what I'm going to do with the rest of my day. I think for sure go for a walk, but beyond that I haven't decided yet.
