We made it! Anyone have any randoms or plans for the weekend?
My randoms: I overslept this morning, but I was only a couple minutes late, thankfully. Also, I got all my abstracts edited and submitted before the deadline. Woo hoo!
Plans for the weekend: nothing specific except for movie afternoon on Sunday. The studio is closed, so I don't have to teach at all! DH will be gliding Saturday and Sunday during the day, so I'm looking forward to doing some gardening, organizing my wine collection, maybe cleaning a bit, and getting some work done! It will be marvelous to have the house to myself!
This is a Friday I'm sad to see arrive. I'm thinking about a potential hike this morning, but I'm not sure yet. I'm going to a hockey game tonight. Tomorrow is a friend's going away party because he's moving to South Korea for 6 months for work. Sunday I'm driving to see my parents for Easter. That's everything at this point!
My random: I tried kava last night. It tastes gross, but supposedly has muscle relaxing effects if you have enough. My body does feel a little more relaxed so far this morning.

We got our negotiations done last night- WOOHOO! Afterwards my boss called me and we were discussing everything. I made a comment about how I was surprised we got as far as we did and she said "we? That was all you. Excellent job!"
P and I went for a tasting last night and my gut was right. The food was fine. Nothing special, but better than some wedding food I've had.
Nothing much planned for the weekend as P is sick right now. I may go out and buy the new Star Wars as we haven't seen it yet. It was an insane week between working a ton of extra hours on the contract stuff and traveling. I am looking forward to just unwinding a bit.
tiramisu what is Kava? My muscles could use some relaxing!
I don't think I updated you all on my dishwasher saga. After the fantastic no-show in february, my dishwasher FINALLY got installed a couple weeks ago...and spectacularly leaked all under the kitchen floor and basement ceiling below. Lowes finally got a THIRD plumbing subcontractor out here (first was the no-show, second was the installer, these people this morning are another company) and they found the installer hadn't properly connected the drain hose, so of course it spewed water everywhere.
Now I have to give Lowes a day or two to process today's paperwork (because company #3 has to confirm that all the damage is from an improper install), then I get to go back after Lowes/plumber #2 (haha! Get it? Plumbers, #2...I'm hilarious) for a new kitchen floor and basement ceiling tiles.
While I hate that I can't just buy a new dishwasher and enjoy it without a bunch of extra stress, we WERE planning on doing the kitchen floor and counters next spring anyway. I hadn't gotten as far as thinking about color schemes, but I guess it's time to do that, because someone (or their insurance) is buying me a new floor this year!

chalupa , nice! I mean, sucky for the drama but YAY for free floors! The same thing just happened to me (of course, because we are twinsies) where a furniture delivery place effed up my stairwell walls. We were going to pay to get them painted anyway (as P didn't want to get on a ladder to paint) so the placed paid for us to get it done. I told them seeing as I didn't have the paint, they couldn't just patch and repair the one spot so the whole thing needed to be done.
Holy shit chalupa. That is quite the dishwasher saga. What a mess. Little and figuratively.
bullygirl979 and chalupa, from my understanding kava is a root that's ground up and combined with water. The place we went also has it in a variety of other forms: a tincture, paste, chocolate bars, and capsules. My body still dells a bit more relaxed today. Like last night and today I'm having these big, huge stretches that feel even better and more relaxing than usual. It's not something I'd drink all the time because there's some question about its effect on the liver if large amounts are consumed regularly, but it was a neat experience.
