Coffee is making me happy. So far today I don't like getting up early. It's still early here, so I don't have much yet.
I want to know how my schedule gets so busy so quickly. First it's like I have nothing on the calendar and then it's like all of a sudden it's nearly full.
Oh! Other random. I read some of my medical records and I'm pissed about how often they refer to me as someone with anxiety/who has anxiety. Like before anything about why I was there for the visit in some cases. Super great. And there were some inaccuracies in what they typed about the visits versus what I remember of them. Like the neurologist who documented that she recommended/we discussed SSRI or SNRI for increased anxiety and tearfulness. I didn't report any increased anxiety or tearfulness and she'd never met me before. I was following up in the ways they told me to and it looked like the internal dialogue was that it was excessive and because of my anxiety. I don't even have a diagnosis anymore. Ugh.

tiramisu, that is irritating. When I was going through my treatment, I remember having a similar experience. I was all "FFS! I have cancer! Eff you for not getting it".

One thing making me happy: the tasting we went to last night was so amazeballs that we hired her on the spot. And, out of the seven things we tasted we loved 6 of them so provided the cost is not astronomical, we have 95% of our menu planned. Oh, and the new pastry chef was there baking. She gave us a cherry galette with white chocolate mousse. Based upon that we decided to hire them for the desserts, as well, and we are planning on going back for a dessert tasting
One thing I don't like: the weather had been getting nicer here...today it is snowing and it's cold. I really want to go running but the "feels like" temp is 20 degrees. I'm trying to convince myself not to be a wimp and get out there. It's only 25 minutes.
My random: I freaking love working from home. It's awesome to be able to run the vacuum cleaner on my lunch break or go for a run. I feel a lot less stressed having an extra hour a day.
One thing making me happy: I got an excited "yeeeessss!!" from the yoga instructor (who I truly admire) this morning, because I was able to get into a decent crow and hold it a little longer than I had been able to. Definitely a positive start to the day (at 6 am lol).
One thing I don't like: It's January all over again here...we're experiencing record lows today. And we're supposed to get more snow over the next few days. This is on top of the snow we got Monday night/Tuesday. I'm over it! Plus I put the snowblower away 2 weeks ago and now I'm stuck shoveling. Ugh!
My random: The guy I had two dates with, and who asked me about a 3rd prior to leaving #2, has disappeared. And I didn't even really realize until someone asked me about it this week lol. Guess he didn't make a huge impression on me? Or I've just been that busy?

Happy: my favorite food truck is supposed to be here for lunch today! And I have nothing going on at the studio, so DH and I are going to celebrate our anniversary tonight (a week late, but who's counting?). And I'm off tomorrow!
Don't like: I'm annoyed on my sister's behalf. She's going to a dinner party tomorrow night and was asked just now if she could make a very specific Indonesian dessert that requires obscure ingredients. When she asked if she could make something else Indonesian that wouldn't require her leaving work early to get to the specialty store carrying said ingredients, the requester said no.

I'm crowing for your crow! It feels so good to finally do something. Have you tried doing it with your feet on a block. That sometimes helps me get going.
Me: work sucks. I accidentally spoiled my H's surprise birthday dinner cruise in Bangkok.

So...something else that is making me happy? I just had lunch, which was some of the leftover tasting. Even the second day the chicken and waffles was ridiculous. I'm so excited. This is gonna be so good!
Today the sunshine is making me happy. I’ll probably take a long walk outside later today to enjoy it.
I’m not happy about the fact I’m hung over. I had a big meeting in Jacksonville yesterday that went really well even though I kind of anticipated it could’ve been really contentious. So when I got Ho e last night I celebrated with some friends and one too many vodka sodas. It’s not making working very easy. I really just want to take a nap.

bullygirl979, tiramisu, cuddlyevil, I'm encouraging her to make whatever she wants. I figure it would take some brass balls for the woman to be like "WTF didn't you make what I ORDERED you to make?!?!?!" in front of other people. Or even if she is clueless enough to do so, it will reflect poorly on her, not on my sister!

udscoobychick, I mean, if someone asked me what they could bring, and I loved a certain dessert, I may say "oh, I love your xyz dessert. If it isn't too much trouble, can you make that?" but if they specifically said they didn't have time, I wouldn't give them grief. That's just insane. I give her credit for still going.
Happy: I love that we have Cherry Coke back in our soda fountain at work.
Dislike: The number of people who wait until the last minute for everything. We have a documented process for things and I would really appreciate it if people would follow it.
Random: Im wearing a dress without tights today and it’s cold, but the thought of dealing with tights this morning was too much.

bullygirl979, I know, right? I could even see (so long as you asked at least a week in advance) saying "I'd really like to feature XYZ dessert at our dinner party...would you mind making it? I can provide a recipe, if you need it!" The woman also apparently dictated what recipe my sister was supposed to use, which my sister was also a little salty about...that would have bothered me less, personally, since it was an obscure recipe, but it was just one more ridiculous thing about the situation that was annoying my sister. There is absolutely a polite way to accomplish the goal of asking someone to bring a specific dish! And dictating it a day beforehand is not that way lol.

udscoobychick, wait, WHUT?? I was thinking this was like a famous recipe your sister makes. So, let me get this straight...this woman calls your sister, asks her to make an uber specific dessert AND dictates what recipe she uses? Oh, HELLLLLLL NO!

bullygirl979, yup, woman asks my sister to make a specific dessert, using a specific recipe that requires obscure ingredients (let's face it, the normal grocery store doesn't carry frozen grated cassava, pandan leaves, and banana leaves), with about 36 hours' notice. I told my sister I hated this woman on her behalf!

. I started using blocks well over a year ago and have been working from the floor for about a year and really building it up. Seriously, one full year to get into and stay for a few seconds. But I'm really proud of it and that I stuck with it all that time!
My yoga teacher is the best and once she told me to use "grippy frog fingers" and look forward "with creeper eyes" it started to click lol!

When our trip to Napa was cancelled, we ended up with almost $750 in airfare to use by June. We can't get our act together to go anywhere so I told P we could use the vouchers to fly his friend out here to marry us. Fast forward to tonight when I go to book her tickets. Apparently there is a DOT rule that I can't give her our credit. BUT we can book a flight, get the unused portion back in a voucher and book her a ticket that way. We were cracking up trying to find the cheapest one way tickets so as to not use the $. I won at $52. We are flying from Chicago to Atlanta
Something new I don't like about the day: one of my clients asked me today if I'm pregnant. Grrrrrr
I explained that you never ask a woman that. I don't feel all that badly about myself as a result, but it stung a little. It's the first time it's happened to me, but damn.
I just gave my Sissy girl sub q fluids for the first time and it went soooooo much smoother than I imagined. She just sat there when I inserted the needle and didn't even flinch when it fell out and I had to insert it again. She is awesome.

This happened to me years ago. I was in Rome on the train and a very very large woman got up to give me her seat thinking i was pregnant. I was 23 and horrified. I got off at the circus maximus and cried.
Oh my goodness tiramisu, that's ridiculous! You don't look pregnant in the slightest. Honestly sometimes I think people do that shit on purpose. Like putting you donw will somehow make them feel better about themselves. It's pathetic.
