HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Weekend was good! Friday night I was super cranky and tired and I went to bed early. Saturday my mom and my sister came over. I tried on all the dresses and picked one! YAHOOOOOOOOOO! Then I went to a friend's house for dinner.
Sunday P and I went to inquire about renting a suit for him for the wedding. We found out it was going to cost almost as much for a rental as it would for a custom suit. So, we spent 2 hours there picking out a custom suit for him. He's gonna look dashing! Then we snuggled and watched a movie.

This one! My mom and my sister said it "was a no brainer decision" and that it was beautiful and elegant. I'm actually glad my sister went as she is pretty analytical. She said she liked this one best from a looks perspective and from a fit standpoint. She said it was the most flattering on my frame and made me look tiny. Given I'm almost 5'10, I like anything that makes me look tiny I ordered a bunch of shoes this morning, too. I hope one of them looks good.
My weekend was pretty good and definitely productive. Friday I stayed in, relaxed, and went to bed early. Saturday I met up with a friend for a goodbye lunch before she left for AZ. She left from lunch!
Saturday evening I got a manicure and then my friend came over. We split a bottle of champagne and then went out. My guy friend who moves out of the country tomorrow morning met us out and we had a great time.
Yesterday I took myself out for brunch, then got my car washed. I worked from home, which took about 2 1/2 hours longer than it should've been other people hadn't done their part. But I ran some errands, replaced lightbulbs, got some things organized, and filed my taxes. I'm getting refunds this year! Woohoo! Granted, it's because I made barely any money in my private practice last year, but really I'm relieved I don't owe.
Oh hey, my weekend was super busy! I want another day off!
Saturday I spent 75% of the day at a dealership - and brought home a nearly-new F150. My salesman was a delightful soul who kept saying "retarded" as an expression. I am looking forward to completing my satisfaction survey for that - while I got the vehicle I wanted at a fair price, I would like to deal with a more pleasant person should I need anything else. Then we ordered pizza and had a night in.
Sunday I took all my extra horse "stuff" to sell at a tack swap. I think I sold about half of it, so that's not too bad, then I raced home and sold my old horse trailer to someone from Ohio. They did not check their state's title/registration requirements, so they left "hoping" my signature on the back of the title was good enough to drive a trailer home WITH NO LICENSE PLATE. And the back of the title said "to be signed in the presence of a notary", but I finally shrugged and figured it was her issue to deal with, as long as I had the payment. Woohoo, but all of that took up the entirety of my day. But now I get to decide on what new trailer I'm getting (I'm having a hard time deciding between a standard trailer with some upgrades and going for the full-blown custom design) and order it up.
So all in all - lots of money out the door, some money in. LOL.

chalupa, ugh, that word bothers me so much. I know most people think "it's just an expression" but I still remember one of my clients sobbing in my office because someone called her a "retard" because she had intellectual disabilities So I don't blame you for wanting to work with someone else.

chalupa, liking for the good parts of your post, not the jerk you had to deal with. Definitely put it in the satisfaction survey--DH once complained on one of those that the dealership kept cold-calling him to try to get him to trade in his car for a newer one despite the fact that he had asked to be put on the dealership's "do not call" list...corporate followed up right away on it! So they take customer satisfaction surveys seriously!
My weekend was SO MUCH CLEANING. We did a really thorough top-to-bottom clean of the house in preparation for guests coming over Saturday evening. By the time we were done, I was hoping the guests would bail because I just wanted to veg on the couch. But, they didn't. And then they stayed the night. Grrr. I had to scramble the next morning to find things for breakfast, but we managed. Then I had to teach Sunday afternoon/evening. It was a very productive but not relaxing weekend.
The upside is that I got my wine collection fully organized this weekend! It has all been imported into an app that tells me exactly what I have and where it is stored. And I opened one of the remaining bottles of our wedding wine (a local 2012 cab sauv), and it has aged REALLY well!

When H and I got married we spent more on his attire than mine. At the time he wore a suit everyday. It made way more sense. Even still we bought it on a damn good sale and he looked great.
We had some old friends over to go the the soccer match... in the short time they were in my house they tracked dog crap all over my carpet and chipped my quartz counter top. We had fun that night but sunday when I realized my counter was chipped I was really pissed. I had to go through my trash that is near the chip to find the piece. The "friend" called and fessed up later that day. Now I am hoping my counter guy can repair the damage.
Work is a mess. I'm stressed out about getting things done. I've been logging 11-12 hour days trying to make it happen. I think I'm really burning out of my profession. All of the fun is going from it. :/ I'm not sure what to do about it. sigh. Sorry to vent and run but I've got to get back to it.
neonpink, yeah, his suit costs more than my dress! He doesn't need to wear it for work but he also doesn't have a suit. I told him it would be useful to have for formal events, job interviews, etc. It was work the extra $, IMO. And where we got it from was EXTREMELY affordable for a custom suit, so why not get something that is made for you?
That is awesome. I can't wait to have a wine fridge so we can expand our collection.
Yes, come over! I have a few bottles that will not fit in my wine fridge, so I need help drinking them!
I love the app, though, because now if someone wants wine, I can ask what kind and know if I have it or not, what winemakers/vintages, how many bottles, etc. It's great! I did have to laugh, though, because I had 8 merlots. I don't normally like merlot, so apparently, for the past few years, every time I've had one that I actually liked, I must have said to myself "How novel! A merlot that I like! I should buy it!"

Hahaha. That's awesome. One of our good friends is a SVP at a very well known wine and spirits company. He hosts a "get rid of my stock" wine party every year where he pulls out every bottle that is 10 years old and we try and polish them all off. One year he had like 2 bottles for every person there! He had so much we started playing games and he was giving away bottles as prizes, hahaha.

That's impressive! I think I have 1 or 2 that are from 2008, but most 3-5 years old. I have some nice bottles that are stashed specifically for longish-term aging, though, so I'm looking forward to trying those in 10 years!
