Hey ladies, how's it going?? Anything fun and exciting going on this week?
I'm really excited, I leave for Texas on Friday for a weekend with my best friend! I love getting to spend time with her, and it'll be a weekend of just sleeping in, eating what i want, seeing the sights, etc.
Otherwise, life is normal! G is growing like a week and his 9 month appointment is tomorrow (more like 9 months, 3 weeks, but oh well). Hopefully no shots, so that's a relief.
morning. Your trip to Texas sounds SO NICE. I go to Philly to visit my sister again in 2 weeks this time SANS baby and I cannot wait to sleep a little!
S has been super sick the last few days. High fever, diarrhea, cold symptoms and beyond fussy. He did nothing but sleep on me for the last 48 hours. And while I loved the cuddles it got old really quick, lol. Of course, my H is gone for a conference so it is just me.
S cut his first tooth finally (9 months!) and that seems to be bothering him a lot as well. Poor guy. But he also has crawling and pulling himself up as skills he has mastered this week and is in general just so much fun.
L has his one month appointment this morning. I'm curious to see how much more weight he's gained. He's also getting his first shot and circumcised (pedi wanted to wait since he was a preemie). I'm nervous about the procedure. We want it done, but I also don't want to see my little guy in pain.
He had his newborn pictures done on Sunday. The photographer sent over a few sneak peeks and they are adorable! I can't wait to see the rest! Her and her assistant were so sweet and so good with him.

G is working on his 2nd tooth right now, but thankfully doesn't seem to be bothering him much. Just a giant drool fest! The crawling is adorable, I love watching him move!
Had my first OB appt after graduating from the RE, I'm just about 10 weeks. I was surprised/sad that I won't get another ultrasound until 20 weeks . He pulled out the Doppler and said that there was practically no chance of hearing a heartbeat this early but we did! That helped a bit. Getting some bloodwork done and NIPT testing later in the week.. hopefully all is well and that will put us more at ease.
And for the best news, tonight is the last night of progesterone shots! I'm beyond excited. Here's to hoping I can start sleeping through the night. It's been a long 8+ weeks.
Saw the OB this morning so I got to hear the heartbeat again. <3 She was running over an hour behind but she has never made me feel rushed and spent extra time with me today even though she was already so late. It's so nice. My OB with my first was always rushing out and never had time for any questions.
DD's 1 year appointment is next friday but it looks like I'll be traveling for work. They have me scheduled to work that Sat, mon, and wed, which means I'll leave friday, be gone all weekend and most of the following week. bummer.
kellikans I was super nervous too because we had to wait 3 weeks to get our son circ'd but he was no big deal. After an hour of being extra clingy it never seemed to bother him. Just had to keep it clean and let it heal.
oneslybookworm & shauni27 crazy how the teeth things varies so much. C is almost 7 months and just had his second tooth pop out this week.
I hope S gets feeling better very soon Shauni, poor guy.
C is trying to crawl and it's so cute, he will prop himself up, rev back and forth and then just lunge for stuff instead of actually crawling. Or he will just roll to what he wants. I bought the package of newborn, 6mo & then 1 year photos and we've had to postpone the 6mo photos twice because of weather. Nothing we can do about it but I'm annoyed. Next session is scheduled for May 2nd because I just want them done before he's closer to a year.
@daylily baby coos are just the best. Sorry the thrush isn't going away but I'm sure her ped can try another route to get rid of it. Of all songs, my son loved the Outlander theme song. I don't even watch the show but my mom does and she sang it for him and he immediately calmed down. It's our go-to calming song now, I think he likes the bagpipes.
pandora89 so close! Can't wait for baby to be here.
mrsgoontz, how exciting on the crawling! S was in that stage of propping himself up but then just rolling his way around for what felt like WEEKS but was realistically like 3 weeks. Now he crawls and it is so cute. I put him down on the floor in his nursery yesterday with a toy while I ran to the next room to start his tub I turned around and he had followed me to the bathroom, lol.
@daylily, noooooo, how disappointing on the camp and the taxes! Ugh.
kellikans, I hope your DS is bothered as little as mine was! The actual circ and recovery was fine for us, with the third day or so being the worst on the bandages. I will say that maybe DS ended up with an adhesion, because we’re idiots and didn’t know we had to be pushing the skin back for so long. Poor buddy had a quick surgery to fix that when he was a toddler, because it didn’t resolve.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I saw the urologist this morning. He ordered a CT scan to get better info on size and position of the kidney stones and wants me to do it while I'm in the hospital for delivery. He's like, you'll be there a couple days right? Then I have an appt with him like 2 weeks later to decide what to do. I'm worried about breastfeeding. He said none of the treatments would impact BFing, but I'm not sure he's exactly an expert on that. If they give me anesthesia will I have to pump and dump? I guess I will ask my OB, maybe she will know better. And I can't imagine doing that with a baby who's only weeks old. My stone is a few mm bigger than the range he recommends the shock wave treatment for, but he says we should try it first anyway. But then later he said it will probably keep getting larger during the next 6 months, so I'm afraid that will mean surgery, which will mean several days at the hospital. Ugh. Nothing to do but wait and see of course.
Remember a couple of months ago when A was going through an awful separation anxiety phase? Well today was the second day in a row that she's run into the playroom at daycare drop off, and when I yelled I was leaving and did she want a hug, she replied "nope, goodbye mama!"
cactuscookie, how has the transition been for you guys? Does H like her new daycare? Hope you're enjoying living closer to family.
We just st made an appointment with the clinic to start TTC#2. We’re seeing the RE mid June and then planning a FET as soon as they open up after the Summer. So hopefully if my cycle cooperate we are looking at a August (or September) transfer. This feels scary!!
loira DS has a favourite daycare teacher (a young cute French girl that absolutely loves him) and if she’s around when we drop him off he will throw himself in her arms and dismissively wave for us to leave.
L's circ went just fine. DH went in with him. He just cried during the initial local injection, then didn't cry anymore after that. I've given him Tylenol a few times just to help with any discomfort, and he seems to be fine. Diaper changes are easy and don't seem to bother him much. Just looking forward to it being healed.

It's going really well now! H looooves her cousins. She's sort of obsessed with my sister's older boys, although it's mostly the younger (4YO) she follows around when they're together. And DH and I are having a lot of fun living in a bigger city - restaurants, museums, zoos, farmers markets!
She's settled into her new daycare well. She doesn't seem particularly eager to go each day, but she's fine once she's there.
She has another transition coming up, because we're currently staying in a rental house, and we put an offer on a house to buy a few weeks ago, so we plan to move in a month. But I don't think she'll have many issues with this one, since she'll be going to the same daycare and have basically the same routine.
You mentioned potty training A a few weeks ago - did you? I think H is more than ready, but DH and I haven't wanted to take the time right now.

OMG not yet. We both got raging head colds that lasted 2 weeks, so I put it off. Was thinking of doing it this weekend, but might be lazy again. I feel like I need the book club equivalent for potty training. Some sort of social scenario to hold me accountable so I actually do it. A is more than ready, but I keep getting lazy ... You have a good reason to wait - moving will disrupt things anyway, so no judgement here if you hold off.

It sounds like we're in kind of the same boat. H is definitely ready, but I just don't want to deal with it now. But after we move, we have one trip after another for months. It's all fun stuff, but I have a feeling it's all going to keep distracting us from potty training.
cactuscookie, loira, I think you are both fine. ALL of my friends who have potty trained have put it off and put it off and put it off...it will happen eventually!
Poor S is just so sick. He had a high fever all weekend and in to Tuesday. Fever seems to be gone now but he is covered in a rash (does not seem to bother him) and you can tell his throat is just killing him. Whenever he coughs he either cries after and he sounds hoarse or he is gagging because there is so much phlegm. Poor baby was up from 12:30-2:40 am just trying to get comfortable. I feel so bad for him. He just looks at me and cries like "why are you not holding me and making me better?"

I'll sit over here with you guys. C is totally ready. I've gone as far as buying her underwear and a PT book, but I'm not looking forward to this process. I've been thinking about putting off to the next long weekend which is Memorial Day. We'll see.

We are totally set! My sister gave us a hand-me-down potty, then I got the toilet seat reducer thing, a potty book, underwear, even a piddle pad. We are ready to go! Except we don't want to do it now. Ha. I'm glad we're not the only ones.
H loves the toilet though. Basically, she poops in her diaper, says, I pooped, I'm going to go potty now! and we put the poop in the toilet, wipe her butt, she sits on the toilet for a couple minutes, then flushes, we put a new diaper on, and she washes her hands. So she sort of has the process down, but not quite in the right order. Hopefully I'm not screwing everything up by letting her do this.

A does all of that too (with pee, still doing the night poops - whyyyyyy?), so if you're doing it wrong, then so am I. At this point, all that's left to do is get her to connect the dots to actually releasing pee in the toilet.
So my FET was 4/9 and my beta was this morning. The dr called me a bit ago to tell me my levels came back at a whopping 12, so likely a chemical. Blah. I'm going back on Monday to see if they increase exponentially, but I've been getting positives at home since Sunday so there's no way this is going to work out. I'm pretty disappointed but okay. I'm dreading the whole process of getting through this cycle and starting another.
@daylily, are they certain it's thrush? E was diagnosed with thrush in the NICU and had to take that nasty nystatin, but once we got her home, the pedi was like, yeah, that's not thrush.
I've been down in the dumps this week, we had to put our cat down and E's surgery STILL hasn't been scheduled. I did get to go out for happy hour and that was fabulous, plus I went to the baby consignment shop and got a bunch of summer clothes for E. Now, if only it would warm up!

OMG so much drool. She has all eight of her front teeth, so I guess she's working on molars? We know they are right under the gum because we saw them on the CT scan. She kinda spits/sputters out the drool, so I'm always wet and there are puddles on the floor and her activity tables!

@daylily, she had a white coating on her tongue; it eventually just went away. Some of the nurses in the NICU were really good about wiping the Nystatin around her mouth and rubbing it in well. I'm sorry you're dealing with this and hope it resolves soon.
