One of the last decisions I need to make is what color grout to use for the floor: black or taupe?
If we do taupe grout for the floor, it would be the same color taupe as used in the shower. It coordinates with the vanity top, the accent tile edges, and the marble floor tile.
If we do black grout for the floor, it would emphasize the basketweave pattern, and pick up the black dots on the floor and the black swirls in the vanity top.
Either way, we're doing taupe with the white subway tile in the shower. I gave a lot of thought to black grout/white tile in the shower, but decided no because it would be more stark than I am looking for, and would not go as well with the penny round accent tile that will be in the ~11x22 shower niche.
I was originally going to say taupe, but I googled and while it's probably not your exact tile, I kind of like it in black. But it does give it a whole different look than what you currently have going on.

I had to google for black grout. I love the look, but I think I would still go with taupe. If the lighter tiles in the basket weave pattern were white (or whiter) I would say go for the black, but since they are more taupe-y themselves, I would stick with that.
Yeah, it was hard to find pics that look anything like our marble with black grout!
I like some of the tile/grout combinations that emphasize the basketweave pattern itself, not just the dots. Like, I prefer this:
over these:
That bottom picture, where you really only see the dots, is why I didn't want to go with a really light grout like on the actual tile sample in the OP. I don't want the floor to be so busy that it fights with the vanity top, though. I agree there's a risk that black would land there.
Hopefully the taupe is a happy medium! It makes things a little easier to use the same color grout throughout, as well.

Taupe. I think the black will be too busy and will make the squares blend into it rather than emphasize the pattern. I like keeping it consistent with the other grout.

I was firmly in the taupe group until I saw the pictures with the black grout. I do like it more than I expected! But given the details of the rest of the room, I still think taupe is the way to go
