I was told by my H that we need to do easy dinner this week because he will be tending to a groundhog situation in our backyard. I specifically asked to be spared any details.

sunbutter , would you mind sharing the recipe for the chick pea and sweet potato salad?
campermom - solo here means better/fancier/healthier food as DH eats like a bachelor by preference. He would never eat half the things all three kids eat so I wierdly cook all week and save the easy stuff like Chinese and spaghetti for when he’s here. Sometimes this makes me really, really angry because shouldn’t he cook one of the three nights a week he’s present??

My answer is yes he should cook at a minimum one of those nights! H and I have made some great strides in division of labor over the last year. It's helpful that our schedule is pretty set, once we find out sports practices. As we stand now, i cook Monday and Wednesday, he cooks tuesday. We share Thursday. But he when I make the shopping list I ask him to tell me what to put on it, bc he doesn't get to serve pancakes and be the fun dad when I get stuck with veggies and meat and be the bad guy.
That being said I am so tired I am serving cereal tomorrow night. librarychica!
