DH and I really need to update our phones. I figured this is a good time to check out other carriers. We currently have AT&T. Also, anyone have a new phone they love?

I've had Sprint since I've had a cell phone (so like 17 years, and my mom and sister had phones for a few years before that). I've had a couple minor issues but they always fixed the problem (billing things). My only annoyance right now is that they're finally completely doing away with the upgrade discount with the 2 year contract. We've been doing that forever! Next phone we get we'll have to "rent" for a monthly fee. I hate that whole concept, but pretty much every carrier is doing that.
As for phones, I have the Galaxy S7 and love it. I've been pretty happy with Samsung in general! I've also heard good things about the Google Pixel I think it's called? I've never been and probably never will be an Apple fan, lol. I find them to be overpriced and don't like the lack of customization personally, but I know they have a big following of course

I have Tracfone, which is a pay as you go plan. I love it because I don't use my phone a ton so I'm able to get service for cheap - I typically spend $20 every 3 months for a package that includes minutes, texts and data. I know this doesn't necessarily work for people who use their phones a lot.
I have an iPhone 5 that was a hand me down. I'd like to get an upgrade but I don't want to spend the money and it works fine so I'm sticking with it for now. It's my first iPhone and I like it, I'd definitely consider another iPhone.

We have AT&T as well and have had it since I got a phone at 16 years old. My parents bought me an iPhone 6s a year ago. Years ago I had an iPhone 3g and then went to a super basic phone for a few years (no data plan). When we moved here we upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy J6. It was great compared to what we had before...however, I failed to put an Ottobox on it (or something similar) and eventually it took its last drop on the ground (it was constantly falling out of my pocket or C dropping it). I have an ottobox on my iPhone and it’s probably dropped daily (mostly L throwing it during a breathing treatment) and it has held up well.
Galaxy S8 on Sprint network. Meh. I was happier on Verizon, but I'm on a family plan through Sprint with my BIL and his family, and Sprint is cheaper than Verizon.
I looooove my phone though. I've always been an Android girl, never had an iPhone.
We got iPhone SEs last year and we like them. Anything newer would be too big for us. I have a commuter style Otterbox & had one for my last phone. I've broken both... which is better than my phone. DH broke his Defender for his last one, but this one is holding up a lot better. If you can handle the bulk, the Otterbox Defender is great for any phone. Androids do seem more durable but I HATE Google & the whole Android software so I'm stuck with iPhone.

We have sprint. I’ve had a few issues with them the last 6 months or so. It’s mainly billing issues.
I have an IPhone 5. It’s old and barely working but I’m not due for an upgrade until August. I plan to stick with an IPhone when it’s time to upgrade. I’m just not sure what model yet.
We have Verizon and have for almost 9 years. The three years before that I was on my parents' AT&T plan. Verizon has better coverage in my area than AT&T and H was already on Verizon so that's why I switched. I have an iphone SE and love it. All the other iphones are way too big IMO. H has some sort of android phone. Not sure which one. He hates iphone/apple products.
We have Verizon, and we’ve been mostly happy with them. I wish it was realistic for us to switch to T-Mobile, for a few reasons, but their coverage here isn’t as good so we’ve stayed with Verizon.
The only other carrier we’ve used in the past was Sprint, and we were not happy with their coverage or their customer service. We didn’t feel like it was worth the cost savings to stay with them.
I have an iPhone 7 Plus and I love it. I know that a lot of people think the Plus models are too big, but my phone is my default piece of technology (I use it as my phone/laptop/eReader/etc) so having the extra large screen is really useful for me. Also, the battery life isn’t bad. It will last through a full day of conference calls without needing to be plugged in.
Thanks for the feedback. I looked into Verizon but it isn't covered here. We stayed with AT&T because it had the best coverage for the area we needed. We are happy enough with the service.
I ordered us new galaxy s8 actives. I hate the process of switching phones but I'm excited for the switch to be done.
