We officially moved out of our old house/handed in the keys yesterday and I got a little emotional since that was the house that we brought DS home to and watched him grow up in these past 20 months. I'm not attached to the actual space at all (we completely outgrew it) but I understand now why some people have a hard time moving from family homes. He loves the new house though (we all do, cats included) and I know we will have many great memories here too!
We also used the move as an opportunity to transition him in a few areas, most notably going from the crib to a regular bed. My baby! He's doing so well already though and I'm thrilled I won't have to buy a 2nd crib to only use for a short time. We also moved him from the high chair to booster seat which he loves.

Well I feel crappy. The other girl that pumps in the same room must have forgotten her cooler because there are bags of milk loose in the fridge in here. 4 of them that look like they probably have 3 or 4 ounces in them (from what I can tell, obviously I didn't touch them). I know she takes less time than I do too. My work pumps typically get me 3-5oz total in like a half hour of actual pumping, not including setup and put away time. I've already been self conscious and anxious about my barely enough supply, especially after A ate a ton on Sat compared to usual. So I'm just kinda feeling shitty right now and wishing there was some way I could magically become an over producer and not have to pump so damn much all the time. Blah. I might try some supplements again but at 5 months I'm not sure what else I can really do
ETA: I just wanted to add that I really am thankful I get what I do and I know there is so much more to being a mom and life in general but that just killed me today. My life pretty much revolves around pumping and I feel insecure when I see how easy it is for other people. I have a really hard time accepting things for what they are instead of how I wish they could be so I try to just not think about it as much as possible, lol.
HoneySpider Is it bad that I am delaaaaaaaaying the big kid bed transition until she goes to college?
Same! C is STILL going strong in his crib...I see no reason to change things up because he will most certainly give me issues with both nap and bedtime (unless I drop nap, which I am not ready to do).
Glad it’s going so well for you HoneySpider!! I had similar feelings when we moved out of our old home when C was 19 months old...we had gone through both losses and bringing C home while living there plus all the stuff with my mom. But our new home already has some amazing memories as well and actually feels a lot more like “home”! Oh, and we just did the high chair to booster transition as well for L...that went really smooth!
estrellita- ((Hugs)) friend. You are doing a great job!! BFing is hard (and I am saying that as one of the lucky ones that has never really had a supply issue). It’s such a selfless commitment and you are rocking it! If you want to try to boost supply I think there’s no reason you can’t (even at 5 months...I had times with C later on in the game where I pumped more and gradually increased), just not sure how worth it it is for you to put so much pressure on yourself when you are meeting her needs right now (and are ok supplementing as needed). You need to care for you as well!

luv2rn4fun thank you! I'm currently just barely keeping up with her. She switches off eating more or less than what I make so it ends up evening out but I'd like her to be able to eat more without worrying about dipping into the small freezer stash or opening a container of formula we won't use before it goes bad. Logically I'm fine with supplementing if needed but I don't WANT to have to. For some reason I'm stubborn about this! Maybe since nursing didn't work I want pumping to go better than it is.. idk. I'll be happy when we're out of the baby stage again so I can just move past it finally!
estrellita Big hugs. It's totally understandable to have those feelings. You are doing awesome. There is no way I would have been able to keep up pumping as long as you have.
I bought a mattress for G to move her out of her toddler bed and into her big girl bed. I'm hoping we can get it all set up this weekend. She is so looking forward to a bigger bed so we can all snuggle in her bed to read books before bedtime.

HoneySpider- C went through a phase of trying to climb out too. Then he learned that he can get out of a PNP. I was using it to keep him “safe” while nursing L upstairs so I needed him to stay put...I pretty much scared him out of doing it again and it has helped to keep him in his crib longer. I have serious anxiety of the day he no longer sleeps in a crib...visions of going straight to L’s room and waking him up, coming to us all.the.time at nap/bedtime, etc. mostly just worried about him being disruptive to L...their rooms are so close and we are either downstairs or far enough away in our room.
estrellita- you are doing an awesome job! I think BFing has a tendency to make some of us stubborn and crazy. I don’t know why we can’t let go of it at times and just be grateful for what our body is doing (I had a horrible time weaning C and I have no plans in sight to wean L...at the expense that I have to be there for his 4 feedings...there’s only one that I would feel comfortable missing right now).
((Hugs)) suzv. Sorry J is sick 🙁. I hope he feels better soon and I hope TTC goes fast (and a healthy pregnancy) for you this time around! C woke up from nap coughing yesterday and L was just coughing on the monitor...no guys, we are not doing this again! I am hoping they stay healthy!
E woke up saying his ear hurts. No fever, acting fine. The affected ear was 2 degrees warmer than the other, but still below 100. I gave him motrin for pain and sent him to daycare. He didn't say anything when I picked him up so... I'm hoping that he just slept on that ear wrong and it's not an ear infection. I don't have time to go to the pedi this week and DH is OOT until late tomorrow night.
I really want my own otoscope to use at home, haha.
Eta: just looked on Amazon for s&g, and they're less than $50. Huh, I may get one. The standard one you see in the dr office is $145 though, boo.

pooh8402 and @mrsmb I have a home otoscope. I bought it on Amazon when DS started getting constant ear infections like his sister. I just got an inexpensive Dr. Mom one but it’s done the trick. So far, I’ve been right with my self-diagnosis each time.

Do you like the Dr Mom one? The reviews seem to okay overall, but when I read the 1 and 2 star reviews, it seems to be mostly medical professionals saying that the light is too bright and white.

Thanks for the recc! We've been doing some homeopathic things to help prevent. But man, i have been really wanting to see for myself before dragging either of them into the doc's office.
Potty Training: I won't go into it. But L is doing this thing where she just wants to sit on the potty.....forever. No, I'm not exaggerating. Like this morning, I had to take her to school screaming because she said she "wanted to pee." But she'll literally just sit there forever. I'll ask her if she has to poop. She says no. Maybe hust get her up an extra 30 minutes so she can just SIT THERE? I took her off this morning because I want her to associate the toilet with elimination and not play. Plus, I would have been late to work.
Is this just a thing?
Also, H is 9 months. Should I be worried his pincer grasp isn't going on...like at all? He'll grab things with his entire hand. But the pincer grasp isn't there.
pooh8402, it's okay. My son had a raging infection each time so it was easy to tell. If it was more borderline it might have been harder. I'm sure if you're used to using a medical grade one, the Dr. Mom one would be subpar. But for me and my inexperience it's been fine.
MrsMB I think G has a control issue when it comes to the potty. She is using it everytime she needs to poop, which is awesome, but she will only poop during the middle of dinner time. So she will sit down to eat, say she needs to potty, and I get her up and take her to the bathroom. She will poop but she will also just keep sitting there saying she isn't done and ask me to read her books or sing songs or whatever while I'm trying to keep an eye on her sister who is in the booster seat eating. It's so annoying but I also don't want to discourage her so she doesn't take another step back from potty training. Kids!
bk1 E would do that too. He'd do bed time stalling, then decide he needed to go potty again 10 min after we leave his room. I didn't want to take him because I knew he was stalling more but I also don't want to not let him go if he needs to! He also did the sit there forever thing for a while and still sometimes does but now it's more like he gets distracted or doesn't realize he's done or something, lol. But now he's realized if he sits there forever it's less time to do other things!
bk1- C always poops right when we get home from preschool and during dinner time. Both are equally annoying times to have to stop what I am doing to deal with poop 🤣.
estrellita- C is doing the bedtime pee stalling. I just go with it because I know it will mess up bedtime if he doesn’t go. So frustrating though, especially when he’s had 30 min to go and he decided to play instead. I will work on this battle later...
So last night I checked on E on the monitor and saw he was up, so I went in there. He mentioned something about underwear and I looked down to find the vent cover off and a pair of underwear stuffed part way down (it was a pair from DC, clean, was out so we could bring it back). Wtf kid?? I kinda had to laugh but also wonder what else he's stuffed down the vent. Ugh. Lol.
Okay, but for real, I have no idea what to do now. Anyone have any early pregnancy 101 tips or tricks or things to do or things not to do or books to read or anything? I’m still trying to wrap my head around this being real. Yesterday was full of excitement, and then I woke up this morning completely terrified. 😳

Call the doctor to book your first appointment. For my doctor it's not until 8-10 weeks. They don't do an u/s that early unless you aren't sure how far along you might be but I know a lot of doctors are different and do one earlier.
Because I freaked out about it, just know that spotting can be 100% fine. I spotted with both pregnancies due to a low placenta and both kids are fine. I just know it can be common so I'm trying to give a little pre-assurance in case you experience it!
You probably won't start feeling more symptoms for a couple weeks, like morning sickness. My best advice for that is keeping some bland food in your stomach at all times (crackers are perfect). B6 vitamins seemed to help me too. You'll probably get run down too. Don't feel bad about napping or cutting down on some activity if you're not feeling it!
As for things not to do, pretty much just avoid things like alcohol, excessive caffeine, ibuprofen, other certain medications, anything that has had a listeria outbreak (fruits and veggies but obviously still eat fruits and veggies, just keep an eye out for recalls. Also deli meat but if you heat it up it should be fine. All depends on your comfort level). Exercise is still fine although there are things on your stomach or back to avoid (no abdominal stuff mostly).

Thank you! This is all really good information.
I called my OB/GYN yesterday, and my first appointment is scheduled for 6/8 (nine weeks). I also called my endocrinologist yesterday, and she wants me to increase my thyroid meds now, go in for blood work on Monday, and then repeat labs in a month and make adjustments as necessary.
So far, I’m mostly just tired, crampy, and bloated. I went and picked out a prenatal yesterday, and my doctor recommended B6 and unisom daily to try to fight off potential morning sickness, so I got those, too.
What do they typically do at the initial appointment? If they don’t do an ultrasound, do they check for a heartbeat? Should H come with me?
