I went to type the subject line and it auto-populated. Guess I've used that one before
But today feels like a good day to me and I hope it does for everyone else as well.
We have this feedback function in our HR system where workmates can enter feedback that your manager gets and that can be seen on your profile. One of my workmates just gave me some really nice feedback for helping her with something. It really wasn't even anything difficult but she said it was just one more time I jumped in to help and she was really grateful. It's so nice to be appreciated!
Its another beautiful day here today. I'm planning to go for a long walk at some point. I think I'll stop in at Nordstrom and try to finally spend my gift card.
Can I share a somewhat related brag? I got a call out of the blue yesterday morning from my grandboss because she needed my help on a quick turnaround task...she said she was calling all her "secret weapon" people, so that made me feel good!
Plus, it's a warm, sunny day here, so that always puts me in a good mood!
I'm in a funk. I had a conversation with my supervisor last week which left me feeling really funky. I'm trying to let it go, but it's weighing heavy. I'm taking off on Friday, so I'm hoping a mental health day is going to help.
Not having major deadlines and being able to breathe at work is a great thing. I finally feel like I have time to do some of the things I’ve been pushing to the back burner lately.
Challenge: having a parent at home who is unable to care for themselves. I always knew I would help my parents, but I never thought it would be at this level.
Sorry you’re in a funk doriswe. I hope the Friday off helps.

I went to a macaron making class last night. The instructor was an older guy who decided to open a pastry business after retiring from his "first" job. He was so sweet. He says "now, if you go to make these and get in to a bind, feel free to give me a call." That's so awesome.
We are also working to nail down the flavors of cakes and buttercreams we are trying for our tasting. Thus far these are the cake flavors we are trying: blood orange, almond, brown butter espresso and vanilla. The buttercreams are: vanilla, coconut, praline hazelnut and some sort of chocolate. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
bullygirl979, what flavor macaron did you make? I need to try those again...I've only tried once, and they didn't come out quite right. In all fairness, because I'm me and am incapable of following a recipe exactly, I did sub half ground peanuts for half of the ground almonds (I was trying to make PB&J macarons), and I think the higher fat content threw the recipe off a bit.

We just did plain outsides and then we did coconut, lemon, pistachio and chocolate meringue for the middle. I will say I liked this guy's instructions because ALL of the tips he gave us were right in his recipe.
I'm going okay today. Frustrated about my foot and a little nervous that I might get blown off/have it minimized, but hopefully they take it seriously. The doctor I'm seeing today used to be my PCP years ago. He was mostly good so I'm trying to let myself be cautiously hopeful.
He took me seriously! I'm waiting for x-rays now, then I have to follow up on referrals to podiatry/orthopedics and sports medicine. He also mentioned that I'll probably get a CT and/or MRI. He called me a dancer and I beamed. It was really good.
