amaranth I feel like I'm in a haze with just 2 kids! I definitely couldn't imagine having more right now. What you said really makes me feel more done at 2. I don't want them to feel like that!
I am more and more done having kids. I get so worn out with the two! I feel like I'm a pretty awesome mom, but I don't think I would be nearly as good of a mom if I had more kids. With DH working more hours I just feel so drained by the end of the day. I truly don't know how some moms do it! I am always in awe of one particular mom at the library. She has 5 kids and is so relaxed and go with the flow. I swear all the kids love her and flock to her and she just sets everyone up playing and handles it so well.
suzvestrellita my mom had 5 kids before she was 30 (all of us total in 6.5 years). Looking back she fully admits she was basically just in a survival haze for years and didn't have enough breathing room to enjoy our youth. She said she didn't have the time or energy to dwell our our silly comments or little smiles. She missed our on firsts to wipe butts or take kids to the doctor. We felt like a burden to her as kids, although we knew we were loved. My dad was always working and there was never much money. It was just so much for one person to do every day. She is happy to see her kids making slightly different choices because she doesn't want us to feel the way she did. I'm just glad she was honest about how hard it was so we didn't naively think it was an easy time for her. On the flip side, I have a sister in law with a bunch of kids who thrives and loves it. Her kids are the best cared for people I know. Everyone is just different I guess.
KUDOS to your Mom for being honest. Seriously. That is awesome.
There is a woman at my former church with 5 kids and she's my age. I can't even imagine. I seriously have no idea how she does it.

I have a college friend who has 6 kids, I think the oldest is maybe 13, but the rest have all been fairly close together. They don't "believe" in birth control (literally, he has said this to people before) so I'm wondering how many kids they'll end up having! They go to the same DC so I know the cost.. most are school age now but still, how do they afford everything for that many kids?? Or have the energy? Or go anywhere and fit everyone in a vehicle? Fitting a hypothetical 3rd kid in anywhere is a big reason I feel done at 2, lol.
I put the boys to bed and DH and I decided to open the growler of beer from my aunt (it was my mom’s growler so my aunt had it filled and gave it to us on Sunday)! We had a beer and watched the sunset from our balcony and then decided to finish the growler while watching HGTV! Much needed fun night wirh DH!
luv2rn4fun - When you were pregnant, did you have any issues with taking your thyroid meds first thing in the morning and then having to wait 30-60 minutes to eat? I'm SO hungry when I wake up, even if I eat right before I go to bed. Like, I'm getting so hungry it's woken me up at night. But I don't want to eat too soon and mess with the absorption of my meds, because I know they're important.

I usually took the meds first thing, had a cup of coffee, and tended to eat breakfast after coffee??? It’s all a blur but I am pretty sure that’s what I did. I also never waited 60 min and some days didn’t wait 30 min.
Can you drink a lot of water to get you through the 30 min mark (or coffee...I did all decaf but you can most certainly still have coffee...I forget the limit but a cup/day is ok)?
I do remember always being hungry and there were days I would have a snack during the night if I couldn’t sleep due to hunger.

I didn't realize that coffee was okay while I waited to eat. I hadn't considered that. Maybe I'll send my endo a message to see what drinks won't impact the meds, since I don't really drink coffee. Something else other than water might definitely help, though. I also considered taking it in the middle of the night instead of first thing in the morning, since I'm already waking up at least once to pee anyway. I don't know how long it needs to be since the last time I ate, though.
Oh no! That sucks is it just hazelnut? I assume you'd know by now if she also had a peanut allergy. Nut allergies scare me!
I'm allergic to hazelnut, cashew, pistachio and brazil nut.
She had no reaction to cashew, almond or peanut. Today it was one bite of nutella and reaction occurred right away.
Aww, that sucks. I hate nuts but love peanut butter and nutella! I have a friend that's allergic to I think maybe the same? She usually says "mixed nuts" to make it easier but I'm pretty sure she's not allergic to peanuts either (at least not severely, I lived with her and I'm sure I ate plenty of peanut butter around her!).

I am responsible for bringing teacher treats tomorrow for teacher appreciation week. C has 4 teachers so aiming around $5 each (we are also doing a gift card as a class and the kids all brought cards/crafts/flowers yesterday). One teacher said her favorite treat is “chocolate-coconut”. I am not a huge coconut fan and all I can think of is Mounds candy bar. Any other thoughts, preferably available at a regular grocery store?
ETA: I found some Lindor Lindt Chocolate Coconut Truffles at the store (and peppermint lifesavers for another teacher)! Just need to stop by Starbucks on the way tomorrow for two of his teachers and I am all done!

We painted Mother’s Day cards for the grandmas, walked to the grocery store, had our neighbor friend over for a play date while his mom ran errands (she wanted to take him but C and her son insisted on the play date being then vs after nap)! The boys all played well together and I fed them all lunch! I even let them play with play dough, which I haven’t had out in forever because I worry L might eat it.
Cleaned the kitchen, made DH’s lunch, and took a shower once the boys were in their rooms for nap! Drinking some coffee and resting now!
I see it suzv! So exciting. I tested positive at 10dpo with B and my test looked very similar. My FRER line was a little clearer but I believe my digital was negative until the next morning.
Can I start taking the B6/Unisom combo for morning sickness before it actually starts? Or am I supposed to wait until it hits me before I start medicating against it?
Yes. I know this is a ridiculous question. I’m asking anyway. lol.

I'm no doctor but I was taking B6 before getting pregnant to try lengthening my LP and just kept taking it. I took it separately and used a pill cutter to take half a Unisom as needed for sleep.

I have emetophobia, so I’m kind of freaking out about sitting and waiting to see how sick I’m going to get (okay, more than kind of freaking out). I’m hoping that if I start treating it before it starts, maybe it won’t get as bad once it does.

FWIW I took it most of both pregnancies and never actually got sick! I do have a pretty strong stomach though and the very rare times I do get sick, something is definitely wrong. But I still swear the B6 helped me. Definitely keep small, bland snacks on you and try to keep at least a little food in your stomach (feeling hungry made me feel sick). And on the other side, try not to eat too much either! I haven't tried them but some people have luck with sea bands, sprays (I think they usually have magnesium?) and preggo pops or whatever they're called! Oh, ginger and peppermint tea might help too. Not a bad idea to be prepared but chances are it (hopefully!) won't be that bad!

How much B6 did you take, and how often? My doctor recommended 50mg 1x/day, but Google has mixed reviews on how much/how often is best.
I know the answer is to listen to my doctor, and I definitely will, but I’m definitely interested in hearing what’s worked for other people.
