She finally settled and got some sleep, and is sleeping again now. She's allowed Pedialyte when she wakes up, so hopefully that makes her feel a lot better. They also suspect some roid rage from the meds to help her airways open up.

I got about 2 hours of sleep. Hoping we get a parent room tonight so I can get some better rest. Food is easy to get so that is helping.

I have an interview today for a big job that I’m not even sure I want. 😆 There’s still so much pressure, though! I wish I knew for sure who the second candidate is; there’s one person that I know was in the mix I’d be perfectly happy to have as my boss.

I finally got around to making practice cookies for G's first birthday. I've never done iced sugar cookies before, so I knew I wanted to practice a bit, and this was only the first run. I have some ideas on how to make them better (aside from just practicing the shape), so practice runs 2 and 3 should be even easier!

We're hanging in there. E had a decent night but is having a rough day. Hard to know when to give pain meds- she is cranky because she's hungry, uncomfortable, in pain AND hates everyone. She got her head baandages off and her head looks great. Zig zag incision from ear to ear. Head must have a lot of swelling because it indents easily, much to our surprise and concern at first.

She is asleep again on my chest. The chair I am in is so uncomfortable; you'd think in a children's hospital they would have comfy chairs!

Oh my goodness, thoseareradishes, what a day! The nurses aren’t able to give guidance on meds, or is this like labor, where she can have more as needed, but gets some already? Poor baby, and poor you! I hope each day Ian better than the last.

OMG you guys today was awful. It started off with plastic surgery waking me up at 6:30 a.m. for rounds. then they needed to put an IV in her and it took four people and 6 tries to be unsuccessful and it was traumatic and horrible. Then she projectile vomited her entire bottle on me. Then she popped open her drain bulb and got blood all over herself. We finally got her off the picu floor and into a regular room and I went down to have dinner and the cafeteria was closed. So yeah, happy freaking mother's day to me. Thankfully I got a parents room and will be going to sleep in a couple of minutes. H is on duty and hoping E sleeps well tonight but I'm not anticipating it.
