What's new in everyone's world today?
The outside of my foot started hurting last night, badly enough that I couldn't walk without limping. It's no better this morning, so I have a doctor's appt in an hour to find out what's going on. It's annoying me, because I can't remember doing anything that hurt it! I didn't come down funny on it or anything like that, so I'm not sure what's going on. I just need it to heal soon, since I have two performances on Thursday!
Not much going on here today. My landlord is going to take a look at my kitchen pipes on Thursday morning so I went into a cleaning frenzy last night and then couldn't fall asleep until after midnight. My boy cat was meowing and jumping on things starting at or just before 5am, so I was in a bitchy mood when I got up. Tonight I'm going to make sure I get to bed early, even if I have to take a Benadryl to make that happen.
Preliminary diagnosis is a stress fracture, so they sent me for an x-ray and told me not to do anything outside of my normal activities for a week and see how it does. It's doing better wearing an ankle brace and supportive shoes (boots), so that's good.
My office building is under construction and has been for awhile. Well today it is humid as hell outside and inside since there is currently no a/c. I was so damn warm, my booty was sweating.
I called it a day and am now parked on the couch watching Dr Phil with my kitty.

Oh no! My x-ray came back negative for fractures, breaks, all that fun stuff. But it's also my left foot. We're limpy fraternal twins!
My friend gave me a clay mask that I've been wanting to try. Well I just went to check out how to use it and I need to mix it with apple cider vinegar. Naturally I don't have any. My debate at the moment is whether or not to run to the store for it. I'd really rather pour a glass of wine. I guess I could stop on my way home from work.
My random story for the day - I worked from home today and around 2pm I see something flying around above me. It was a hornet! Ladies, I am irrationally afraid of things that sting. My very flawed logic goes like this. I've never been stung (knock on wood) so my body has never been exposed to that foreign substance. Our bodies develop antibodies to foreign substances by being exposed to those substances. Since I've never been stung I'm convinced that if I get stung I'll literally die. Dead. Go ahead and laugh, I know it's ridiculous. When I saw it I literally got up and ran into my bedroom. Once I got myself calmed down I came out and tiptoed into my kitchen. With one eye on the hornet and another on my cleaning supplies I try to decide which aerosol is going to get me outta this mess. Before I had a chance to attempt to administer death by Lysol my next door neighbor came home. I grabbed him to see if he had any ant/wasp type spray and he very graciously offered to come over and kill the big mean nasty hornet for me. He saved my life guys.

kaneen, I'm glad your neighbor was able to help! That reminds me, I was sitting at work today when a large spider crawled across my desk. I managed not to audibly scream (barely). After quite a production (including me being very jumpy), I managed to coax it onto a sheet of paper to take it to the bathroom to flush it down the toilet. Thank goodness!

tiramisu, my x-ray came back clean, too, but the doc said that sometimes stress fractures don't show up on x-rays right away. Do you have an official diagnosis of what is causing your pain?

None yet. I've been figuring it's a soft tissue injury. Hopefully when I go in on the 15th that'll give more info. I was surprised my doctor didn't order an MRI or CT or something else as well to try to help with diagnostics, but maybe he thinks orthopedics will want to make that referral.

Mine said insurance won't cover an MRI until 6 weeks of "conservative treatment" (I'm assuming a boot + rest?) have been tried. Stupid insurance companies.

Yes, stupid insurance. No, let's not properly diagnose and treat from the get go! That can't possibly cause any problems. Grrrr
