You guys, Central Ohio has gone straight from cold ass early mornings to "oh my god it's humid and warm and I don't waaaaaaannnnnnaaaaaaa!" Complete with my face still sweating when I get out of my lukewarm shower after a run, and having to stand in front of my open freezer for the sweating to stop long enough to put on makeup.
Plus it's supposed to be 87 freaking degrees on Saturday. Guess who's filling up the kiddie pool before soccer so it's NOT freezing when we get home?
Is anyone else counting down the hours until Grey's Anatomy tonight? Besides me and wambam , that is. If my husband even tries to fight me for the tv I will cut him.
ETA: I am full of the randoms today. Who's attempting to take advantage of the DC women's half registration special that starts at 10am today? I might because my patient's not here (clearly) and if I don't end up running it then oh well at least it was cheap.
I went on my first road bike ride last night in I think 2 years. It felt weird. Like "why is this bike so skinny! Why is this road so full of painful cracks and potholes. What's with all this TRAFFIC. My hands hurt. My shoulders hurt! My feet are going numb in these shoes!" I only did 10 miles.
Yesterday at work I was like "a century sounds fun" but now I'm like "hmmm ...." lol. Well at least I didn't fall off my bike, that was my main fear since I never clip in on my mountain bike so I was afraid of that part.
osulori OMG I am so cheesed about this weather. The day BEFORE I’m allowed to run, it’s 75. The day I’m allowed to run and two weeks after? A MILLIONTY degrees!
And yes, I am excited about the Grey’s finale but also don’t particularly want to watch her die.
I had a run scheduled with a friend this weekend but I think she has to bail for very good reasons. Now I have to get myself up without the pressure of knowing someone's counting on me and this will be rough. I plan to run 7-8 miles and since it's been in the 90s lately I have to get it done early.
I think I may be an episode behind on Grey's because I have no clue what you all are talking about.

I'm so excited to be able to run comfortably outside finally (ie, it no longer is as cold as the arctic circle here) but that means I now have to wash my hair after like every run b/c it's all sweaty and frizzy from the hot humid air. Which means I have to get up earlier since I run before work. Waaaaahhhhh.
I tried to register for the 8K or the half, but I didn't get any of the cheap ones. So I'm going to pass. May is pretty busy it's probably a better idea to not add a race to everything else going on.
I somehow got into my head this idea that H and I should do a long, multi day road bike ride this summer. I have no time to train for any kind of road bike distance between work, kid, and half marathon training. But I keep looking for rides...
I think next year I want to do something like www.ridetherockies.com but I also keep thinking that I am crazy.

I got into the women's half for $10! Starting this fall, it's going to be the year of distance racing for me, I'm already signed up for 3 halves and I want to do MCM in 2019. I'm a little excited and a little terrified.
I've been eating nothing but junk food the last few days and I feel like butt. Imagine that. I need to get it together.

My H bought me diamond earrings for my birthday in December forgetting that I already had two pairs (inherited both). Returned them. He's been racking his brain trying to figure out what to get me. I just got home and there is a box from Wiggle, which is a sporting goods company, with my name on it. I texted my H about it and he said it's my birthday gift. I can't wait until he gets home from work (probably 1-1/2 hours) cause it's gotta be something good. I'm so not the patient sort.

Less than 2 weeks ago it was in the 30s and snowing, then it bumped up to 80, then 50s, then some pleasant weather and 80 thrown in there. Of course dd has a soccer game this Saturday AM and it’s supposed to be 40s and rain. Awesome. Her last soccer game was 2 weeks ago when it snowed 😩
I went for a run on Tuesday and it was only low 70s but it felt so hot with the sun. And I’m just not used to this weather yet!!

It’s supposed to be a heat wave this weekend. Thankfully they moved the Olympic triathlon time an hour so we are starting at 8am instead of 9am.
I don’t think DH got me anything for mother’s day and I’m kind of pissed about it.
I’m behind on Grey’s Anatomy and I need to catch up. I think I’m a couple episodes back but I think based on what you all said and some other things I’ve read I know what’s going to happen.

Our 10-day forecast is GLORIOUS. Like, mid-70s and no humidity. Absolutely perfect. So ... we are headed back to NEO to visit my mom and then attend a wedding in Cincinnati. The weather forecast there is like, 90 degrees and 300% humidity. Fabulous. I am already wishing for my own quick, painless death.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! My H bought me a Fenix 5S!!!!! I didn't expect that. It's has a turquoise strap, which I love going into summer. I'll eventually get something else but this is amazing. I need to find out all about it as it's definitely going to be more watch than I need. But so pretty! (Now to find a watch face and other apps)

Some of these mountain rides are intense with 80+ mile days and crazy elevation.
jade I wouldn't do a mountain tour without some serious mountain training. I am a fit cyclist but could barely pedal up a mountain right now. A flatter tour you can do on much less training. Running would count! I'd look for something in the 30-50 miles/day with "rolling" hills but no mountains--like Napa Wine Country.

Ditto no mountains for this first trip. But so.ethibg more gentle you could easily do up to 30-50 miles a day for a flattish ride on 20 miles regular training. Ive done it twice now. We maxed out at 20 miles per ride before all of our bike trips because that's the longest the kids would ride in the trailer.

DD2 had her tonsils out today. We have had some rough spots, and the night is not starting off well. We put her in bed with us because she’s congested which worries us with pain meds, and she’s breathing so loud and labored. I’m not sure we’ll get any sleep. sweet baby
