Anyone have products/suggestions for getting dog smell out of the house? Previous owners had a dog and I'm guessing short of replacing the carpet (which is not in the plans) we won't be able to completely get rid of it, but I need to find something that works at least a bit. We've been able to neutralize it fairly well but we were gone over the weekend and with the house closed up, it came back pretty strong.
Also, I need a lightweight vacuum that is good on hardwood floors, anyone have one they love? Looking to spend probably $75 or less since this would be a 2nd vacuum.
This one is $99 but it's our second vacuum and I've been pleased with it. I have a shark as my heavy duty vacuum but since this is a cordless it gets pulled out every day to clean up after the girls.

In looking into it a little bit, it seems like there are 2 price ranges - $40 and under, and $99 and up. I had a cheapy one in the past, it worked fine but died after about a year so I'm definitely not going that route again. So $99 and up it is!

HoneySpider- my dad has his own carpet cleaning company. My understanding of pet urine is that it’s really hard to get rid of as the urine crystals settle into the pad of the carpet. You can always try having it professionally cleaned but I don’t know how much progress you can make without replacing the carpet and the pad 🙁

luv2rn4fun, thanks. I don't think it's urine, I think it's just general dog smell (I know that's vague) It's definitely worse in the spots we know they had dog beds.

In that case, it should come out with a good cleaning (whether you do it yourself or have someone else do it).
