Sort of off topic - Harry Potter related

I see many of you have said the Harry Potter series is one of your favorites. I'm a little late to the game and I just read the 1st HP book. Would you recommend reading all books and then watching all movies, or watching each movie after I finish each book?

I think you can watch each movie after reading each book. After book 3 the movies don't really follow the books as much and feel rushed but they won't give anything away that happens in the next book(s).

Agree that it won't hurt anything to watch the movies, but I'm willing to bet if once you get into book 4, you won't be waiting to start the next book

I found that if I let more time pass between my re-read of the book and the movie I enjoyed the movie much more.

I just finished a read aloud of the HP series with my daughter. We watched the movie after we finished each book, but most of the time we ended up complaining about all the things they left out or got wrong. We had fun semi-hate-watching, though. 😀 If you want to enjoy the movies, I’d leave some time in between reading and watching.
