How was your weekend? Whatcha got for randoms?

My random is that I TOTALLY thought of the ladies on this board yesterday. I had my hair and make-up trial. The lady is really in to skincare so she did a consultation on me and gave me a mini-facial. She said my face was dry and asked what my skincare regimen was. I cackled with laughter and said "soap. Yeah, I already know it's bad. I have people yell at me for doing it." Hahaha. Although, I have to say her skin was so amazing (she doesn't wear make-up) that I may be changing my ways and using some of the products she recommended I pick up.

We also bought our wine for the reception and I did a little shopping. So, a good weekend!

I was off on Friday, so I had another 3-day weekend. It was wonderful. DH and I went for a flight Friday mid-morning, and we did very little the rest of the weekend, which was absolutely perfect. We smoked a brisket last night which turned out REALLY well, so that was exciting!

I've been on a conference call since 6 am Eastern time and have said absolutely nothing beyond informing the organizer that I was on the call. Oh well, at least I get to WFH for it, although I'll be heading in once it's over.

I'm here, my weekend was great. Dinner Friday night was delicious and I really enjoyed solo. I could have gotten more done during the day on Saturday, but I did what I could and then enjoyed the baseball game in the evening.

Yesterday, I went to the dance store and then when I was heading home saw a plume of smoke in the sky. The light coming in my car was tinged red and the Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter was on the radio, which made for a very surreal experience. Luckily, it sounds like they got the fire almost completely under control last night. What if my friends lives right by there and is out of town for most of June.

I finally succumbed and bought a pair of vaguely cute-ish Birkenstocks. They are comfortable for my feet, which is nice, but the whole thing is still weird to me.

tiramisu, hahaha. Yes! And give me a mini facial. It was sooooo relaxing. And what she was using smelled amazing! She did point out the irony of the make-up artist who doesn't wear make-up, haha. I did like, however, that she talked about how she frequently trialed make-up in a variety of settings, including when she goes on vacation so she knows how it holds up. I also liked that she recommended products for me and told me where to get them, as opposed to trying to sell them herself. I felt like her recommendations were truly for me, and not because she wanted to make an extra buck.

Those are cute! I have some birks on right now. Your comfort will trump any lingering doubts

I swear I had a 2 day hangover from my party Friday night but it was soooo worth it. There was bad karaoke and some dancing on the bars, so all was great!!

I spent today training someone new to cover some of my job functions so I can actually rake some time off this summer. I forgot how damn boring it is to train.

Now I am parked on the couch with my sweet kitty just purring away on my lap. I do not see much getting done tonight.
