MrsMB and other essential oil people: This is probably a dumb question, but I know nothing about this stuff. I was given 2 bottles of Young Living eo - what do I do with them? I'm assuming I need some type of diffuser but what? I don't really feel like investing a lot of money in something to be able to use them, but it would also be silly to not use and waste them.
So, there are several things you can do with them. Which oils are there? Of course, we can also chat offline/PM too about this as well. Topical uses, diffuser uses, internal uses, etc.

katespadeMrsMB Thanks, like I said I know nothing about this lol. I'm not sure the person who gave them to me really knows much either, I'm under the impression that she bought a bunch of stuff and was passing a lot of it on to be nice (this isn't someone I know well)

The 2 I have are orange and basil
Gotcha. Yeah, I'm kind of a nerd on this...and I think katespade is too.
So with Orange:
1. GREAT for supporting/uplifting mood. Fabulous, in fact. This one is safe to use during pregnancy. I'd put a drop of it on your hands and rub on your temples and wrists. You can just smell it to reap the benefits.
2. It's also good to diffuse to help get rid of stinky smells. Good for a nice/fun scent, as opposed to using plugins and candles. (While I only trust YL oils, I use a variety of different diffusers. I can recommend some off of Amazon if you want.)
3. Some people use it for a time (limited time) as a natural teeth brightener. They put a drop on top of toothpaste.
Basil: 1. You can cook with it like you would the actual herb. 2. It's known to support immune systems. You could put a drop of it along your spine or feet for that purpose. 3. I've smelled mine just when I need to perk up a bit. It will help me wake up a bit, if you will.
I know there are many more uses too. These are just the uses I've personally done with these two oils.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions. Like katespade said, there is a (small) list of oils to avoid during pregnancy. (These aren't oils to worry about.)
Thanks MrsMB this is helpful...I never would have any idea you could do things like put it in your toothpaste!
Yay! Glad that helped! Let me know of you ever have any questions. Also, Orange is photo-sensitive....meaning if you're going to be out in the sun for a bit, you'll want to put it where you don't get a lot of sun. I'll put it behind my ears, where I can still smell it, if I'm going to be outside.
We just got our homeowners insurance renewal. They raised our premium by $830 (75% increase). I am really hoping there is an error somewhere because this is outrageous. We had a claim in the previous period and they raised it $250. No claims this time. We already raised our deductible to offset costs so there’s not much else we can do. DH is already stressed because our budget is so tight...his raise doesn’t even cover an increase like this and this is only one bill of many that keeps going up (which is normal and life but this is not a normal increase). He emailed our contact person so hopefully we hear something back today.
luv2rn4fun That is a massive increase. I hope something can be figured out.
We are going to be buying my mom's car from her so DH can use it as a commuter car for work. This will be the first time we pay cash for a car! So excited to get him something reliable and not be taking on a car payment.
I've been shopping around for a new stylist. Same salon, trying a different guy. Except the first guy I tried is also here today. Awkward! In my defense, I would have booked him if he had availability for today...
luv2rn4fun Yikes! I hope you can get it down or find a lower rate by shopping around.

luv2rn4fun that’s crazy! I would definitely shop around.
I held it together better then I thought today. It really hasn’t hit me that I’m not going back to work yet. I think it will next week. I have no clue what I’m going to do for the next few weeks. DH told me to sleep in and rest, enjoy friends and go to the places I’ve wanted to go to but haven’t. Guess I’ll be doing lots of hiking.
Enjoy your time off wineandcheese! Prayers you find something new that you love and that the transition goes well!
Thanks ladies! Our insurance adjuster is looking into the rise in premium but gave DH a run around. DH came home and called a few companies. Two were still higher than the proposed new bill because we have had two claims on this house (one that they actually had to pay on...a water damage claim that affects insurance for 5 years...good to know because we would have just paid the $3500 had we known the impact). Anyways, he is talking with a new company now and it seems like it will be cheaper (maybe even compared to our current rate)! Thank God! Just hoping we don’t switch, end up with another claim, and then get dropped. We have had our current company for 10 years.
I thought I avoided the stomach bug H and E both had but idk. I ate a banana when I got to work and that's it so far. I had to eat it pretty slowly too. My stomach is NOT happy today. So far I'm having much more mild symptoms but hopefully it won't get any worse. Hope I can make it through work today, at least I'm off next week if I need any recovery time but we're doing floors and painting so it wasn't supposed to be rest time!
I wanted to go to a beautiful national park today to get some pictures of the waterfalls. Luckily I looked online to get the address because it’s closed the rest of the year. We had some really bad storms a few weeks ago and they have hundreds of trees down.
Officially did NOT avoid the death sickness. I never ever get sick like this so it must be a particularly nasty bug. A may or may have gotten it too (had some bad diapers and one of her bottles didn't stay down earlier) and DC said they had already sent home a couple babies AND teachers. So it's definitely making the rounds. Hopefully I left in time to avoid anyone at my work getting sick. I've been sleeping pretty much since I got home minus eating an English muffin which was a bad idea lol. I'm sipping on water because I can tell I'm dehydrated but I don't want to overdo it. Looks like we won't go to the wedding tomorrow, though I told H he's welcome to still go!
DH and I got impatient with our anniversary and ended up exchanging gifts early LOL. DH loves his Moscow Mule mug (used it last night with a cocktail and this morning for coffee...I think he likes it better for coffee, which means it will get used more)! He got me a personalized clock that says our last name and year we were married. He hung it above the fireplace in the play room (and joked that now I really won’t let him get a tv for that room...he has been wanting one but I don’t see the need since we can’t watch kids shows and I don’t want the tv on all day). He also got me a really nice card which means a lot! So far we are having a great weekend! Excited for our date tonight!!

Because I'm stubborn and want to feel better, I went to Target today because we needed some stuff and I wanted to look for things I'd be able to eat. Ugh. Bad idea. I'm fine, just feeling gross and tired/weak. This thing really knocked me down. Hopefully I feel better enough tonight and tomorrow. We should have all our supplies and we're planning on clearing out tonight so we can start painting and ripping up carpet tomorrow! Poor H isn't going to get quite as much help as we hoped at first At least his dad and brother are coming to help!
