Looking for any suggestions for any school wide programs that help create a sense of belonging for the students and staff. We are struggling and feel that we need to be more proactive about meeting all the needs of the students. We have some schools in our district that use "No Excuses University" but we are looking to see if there are any other options out there .

This isn't really a program, but last year, I arranged it so that one teacher wrote a kind note and a compliment about every single student in the building. Our kids all received them at a school-wide event and it really meant a lot to them. Some of our students were having trouble feeling "seen," and those were the ones that told the teachers later how much it meant.
My old district used WEB (where everyone belongs). It was a middle school, and we had 7/8th graders mentoring 6th graders. If you google you can find info pretty easily.
The building I’m in started The Positivity Project this year. It’s fairly new but has created a wonderful sense of community with our students. The lessons each week about the character traits are engaging and they have taken a lot that they’ve learned into the school and outside communities to make a difference. It’s something to check out and see if it might be a good fit for what you’re looking for.
