Do y’all have any recs for what to put in hair before/after swimming? This is our first summer with a community pol and I know my hair is going to take a beating if I’m not proactive. I know the best advice is to not get it what but I know that’s not going to happen. TIA

My stylist suggested getting your hair wet and adding conditioner (leave-in / spray) before getting into the pool. Then post-pool, immediately rinse your hair really well. If you color your hair, use a hair sunscreen. I use this Pureology's Colour Fantatic Multi-Tasker. They used to have a straight up sunscreen but it was discontinued which was a bit of bummer for me as I used it for running.
I swim, but my hair is short enough that I don't bother to do anything to it except make sure it's totally wet with fresh water under my swimcap before I get in the pool. But if you're just playing in the pool with kids, I assume you're not wearing a swimcap...
I do leave-in conditioner and a swim cap if I'm actually swimming laps. Otherwise if it's just horsing around/relaxing in the pool, most of the time I try not to dunk my head and have my hair in a bun.
I bleach my hair, so it's a constant battle in the summer to make sure I don't eff it up by either washing too much or damage from chlorine. I try to limit my shampooing to 3 times a week at most. If I go to the pool multiple times in a week, I will co-wash with V05 conditioner.
DD has very long hair and fine hair that tangles easily. I put in It's a 10 spray and comb through before she gets in the pool and that helps tremendously.
