Both my recitals went well. I was barely in the jazz routine and wish I could've been in a bit more of it, but I tried to accept my foot limitations. The tap routine got TONS of cheers from the audience throughout the dance. My parents came to yesterday's performance, too, which was nice.
I'm also proud of myself because I got laundry done yesterday afternoon. I'm still exhausted from this whole weekend, but so glad it went well.
I had the BEST weekend! It seriously was just all around good for my soul! Friday night I hung out with DD. I adore that girl! She's so stinking funny and we just laugh non-stop. We spent a few hours watching weird videos on YouTube and she was singing and dancing!
Saturday I volunteered at our local pride fest and ended up running into a former coworker, his wife and their adorable baby. Then hung out watching a drag show. I crashed a very strange bachelorette party and out drank/out partied the 20somethings. They were all done by 11 lol! I also got hit on by a ridiculously cute stoner, which was hilarious.
Yesterday, I slept in (yay!) and then went to see Koo Koo Kangaroo with DS and some of my friends and their kids. I sang and danced the whole time. One of the guys was running around the room and I got to sing on the mic for one of the songs. It was stupid funny. Then we went out for ice cream and sat in the grass chatting and laughing. DS and I took a coffee to DD, since she was working, and we were chatting with one of her friends and he gave us a free ride on their zip line

Weekend was good! Friday night I CRASHED and woke up Saturday feeling refreshed. Ran some errands and went to yoga, which was so good for my mind/soul. Yesterday I gardened a bit and didn't do much else.
Feeling a little panicked today, but also thankful in how this worked out. I booked some appts for hair/makeup at a salon before I hired the lady to come to my house. I also booked an appt at the same salon for tomorrow for highlights. I just called to cancel the day of wedding appointments and the lady says "I have you down for June 14 and July 12. Which do you need to cancel?" I told her it was supposed to be JUNE 12th and that I begged for SOMEONE to do my hair. I'm waiting to them to call me back :/
I had a low-key weekend. Performances on Saturday went well (yay)...my routine/costume was a big hit with all the kids, and one of the other performers had an after-party at her house, which was a lot of fun. I also swung by a local brewery to pick up a 4-pack of an imperial stout that they were releasing that day as a surprise for DH. Sunday, my yoga and wine thing got rained out (boo), so DH and I just chilled out all day. It was good.

Weekend was good. Friday, I checked in with the kitties, did laundry. Saturday I went kayaking with my choir fam, then I came home and relaxed. Yesterday, we were suuuper lazy.
This week is a short week. But I also have training, so I'm not sure how it's all going to shake out.
tiramisu your photos from the recitals were awesome! I want a rainbow sequin outfit now
bullygirl979 I hope the hair appointment gets straightened out.
I had an awesome weekend with family and now my little brother is all grown and married, sniff sniff. (OK, I guess he was grown before this weekend rolled around, but I'm still all teary and such, clearly). However, we had serious rain yesterday and of course we were on the road when the downpour started (our hometown got over 2" of rain, which is apparently some sort of historical record). There was a sedan in front of us on the turnpike that hydroplaned their way right off the road (and ironically, right into a sign advising caution in a work zone). I just about sh!t my pants seeing them spin off the road, back into my lane, and then into the sign beside the road. I had JUST told Mike I was going to slow down because of the heavy rain and turned on my flashers for visibility, so I'd probably just barely added a few car lengths between us before they spun out of control. We thankfully made it home with no further scares.
chalupa that dress was great on you! And yes, the rainbow sequined outfits were so much fun. Pretty hot, but fun. I have scratches on the insides of my upper arms from the flapper outfit, so I prefer sequins where they won't rub against my skin.

tiramisu, sequins are BRUTAL! Man, they're like a million razors against your skin. I lucked out this time, but I almost always have at least one sequined costume, so I feel your pain!

They really are! I'm in a parade at the end of the month and our tops have those paillette sequins. I'm hoping, futilely I'm sure, that they won't scratch me as badly as the little teeny ones sewn on the costumes. I was wondering if something like the monistat anti-chafing gel might help, but I think sequins are just that evil.
hi everyone! My weekend was good. I celebrated my Dad's birthday with my family. It was really nice. Lately I've been MIA because i'm setting up a business and it takes lots of paper work. I hope it works out. If not I'll find a design gig. Who knows. I have a chance to try something new and I am going for it.
