Having all three kids home ALL THE TIME is making it tough to check in on the board. Our summer is sort of backward this year because instead of having a vacation at the beginning, we're taking it at the end. The girls seem to be settling into something of a routine. They've been doing a lot of reading and roller skating/blading/going to the pool.
I've been sucking at self-care lately because DH is having a rough time at work right now. Hopefully next week will be better.

I emailed the school AP to ask if any of the teachers tutor in the summer. Someone else taking over DD's reading instruction will relax me immensely. Despite our work the last three weeks, I am pretty sure she is losing skills instead of gaining them.

I'm overwhelmed and exhausted. I feel like all I do is drive around to therapy and appointments with no break in between. Now that school is out, I never get a moment alone and I'm struggling with working and sleep. I'm really having a hard time keeping my cool and I'm yelling too much. Normally I don't mind the amount of time I solo parent, but right now I am sucking at it.
I've got to get my head right. Normally, I love having summers off and being home with the kids.

Was she not evaluated for ESY?
I wonder if it makes sense to let this slide over the summer and demand documentation to support ESY over the summer for regression and recoupment. Are there ant multisensory reading programs near you? A Lindamood Bell Center or perhaps a summer program camp at a reading/LD school?
I've got an appointment with a different pediatrician today for Pip. I'm hoping that the new pediatrician will answer my questions rather than just dismiss them (like the old pediatrician did) so I can mentally relax on those points.
I have an appointment scheduled in mid-July for Pip to see a urologist so I can get people to stop stressing me because he's not potty trained yet.....and to provide me with some guidance on how/when to proceed.
I have requested a new IEP meeting. Just waiting to hear back from the school with when this meeting will be. Per the phone conversation with the supervisor the new IEP meeting is to be during the teacher work days leading up to the first day of school - due to the legal/procedural violations that occurred with the April IEP meeting and the resulting IEP.
This is a case of adding items to my schedule to get the stuff out of my head so I can stop thinking/worrying about things. I'm assuming that qualifies as self care too. 🤔

No for ESY. IEP is for speech, with extended time and small group testing added in for anxiety. No diagnosed LDs, but most recent evals show working memory and processing speed problems due to anxiety. Reading causes anxiety for her, so things don't go well with practice time. I suspect more might be going on but nothing appeared this round of testing. She had a full battery of tests in March, but is only 7, so more may rear its head.
