Tell me how to convince both my clinic and another clinic to allow this so I don't have to cancel my vacation and lose the entire cost of the cabin. :/ I'm supposed to be traveling in Vermont Saturday through Tuesday and then stay with my parents Tuesday through Sunday (who live close enough to CNY fertility for anyone with experience there), so I'll either need to adjust dates or figure out two clinics.

So I’m doing IVF at CNY but had my home RE do my first monitoring appt. it was no big deal—they sent me the scripts for the monitoring and labs and I brought them to my RE’s office on the appointed day. Your biggest trouble might be getting an appt at CNY. I’d call them now and ask if they will do an outside monitoring appt if you aren’t their patient. I’m guessing they will.
You might also check radiology labs (google your location and you should see a number of them) to see if they can do the monitoring. That's what I've used, but I've only needed lining checks so I'm not sure of all the services they provide.

I've done this when CD1 showed up way too early while I was out of town, and had planned to do it, but didn't need to, for another cycle. My clinic sent the orders and I arranged with the other clinics to do monitoring only. One monitoring clinic required a "new patient appointment", the other didn't. It was a lot of phone calls, but it worked out well.
Kind of? Here's the deal. During my first IVF cycle my clinic was 2 hours from my house but they let me monitor at a totally different clinic that was only 1 hour away until I was getting close to triggering. Once I got past a certain point my own clinic wanted me there. I talked to my own clinic and called someone at the other clinic to coordinate and I had to fill out forms at both so they could share info but it was fine. I actually did 3 iuis this way before my first ivf cycle. Then my insurance changed and I actually ended up going to the monitoring clinic foe ivf 2,3 and 4. Funny thing is during one of this cycles, maybe 3? I was on a weekend trip and had to monitor at clinic 1 even though I was now with clinic 2. It was fine both ways.
Thanks, everyone! I talked to my doctor and they said it's no problem to write scripts for outside monitoring, and that I might not even need them, or need many, depending on what day I start. I think tomorrow now might count as day one. compassrose, CNY called me back to schedule, too - I filled out their contact form - but I don't actually have my calendar yet.

I might call them back and try to schedule something based on your best guess (even if you have to change it), just to make sure they will actually let you schedule it.
