Best red lip available at Ulta

The remnants of my one red liquid lipstick have finally dried out. It was a good run and I’m ready to replace. I assumed I would get the Fenty one but the Ulta 20% coupon is calling me.

Can you recommend a red matte lipstick or a comfortable matte liquid lip that I should try? I’m very fair with some pink tones, cool-to-neutral. I don’t mind a formula that has some transfer, I just don’t want it so emollient that it smears all over my face.

Ulta has MAC now...so whichever of the classic mac reds would best suit you maybe? I'd offer a real opinion, but I bought russian red for myself and have yet to actually USE it.

i rather like UD's lipstick - they have a couple of options for a red red. F-bomb is their cream formula, but they also have bad blood in the comfort matte which is a bit darker.

What wawa said, I definitely recommend either Mac or Urban Decay. The vice formulas across the spectrum are by far my favorite formulas. Mac’s classic reds are hard to beat for the color though.

The Maybelline matte lipsticks are very comfortable. I like all the other suggestions too lol. I always get compliments when I wear Nars Cruella.

I don’t have color suggestions because I prefer reds that lean orange/brown, but I will just ditto the Mac suggestions. I was very late to the Mac train, but I seriously love their lipsticks.

Thanks for the suggestions! I ended up stopping in Nordstrom Rack for a different item but saw they had UD Vice lipsticks - I picked up Doubt which is a comfort matte.

I'm a similar skin tone and I've had great success with the UD Vice reds. Someone here gave me the tip to put on a layer of lip balm and let it sit for 20 minutes before applying the UD. I use a moisturizing cheapo Blistex and it helps immensely with the drying factor.
