My schedule has been packed. I've been getting in some self care though, other than some inadequate sleep for the past week or two, so I am hoping to work on that this week.
I am madly working to finish a few backyard projects before our annual Fourth of July party. I'm stressed, but the kids have enjoyed having me with them in the backyard. I'm really working on being firm without yelling this week. It's exhausting.
Self care- I arranged for our house cleaner to come tomorrow afternoon to help me clean before the party. It's an extra visit, but I know MH will be too tired from his extra hours at work and I will stress about the house being company ready. It's worth every penny. I plan to get to the pool this week and swim laps. I need some alone time.

I was up at 4am, so I guess the sleep thing isn't happening for me. I have gotten a couple of good walks in the last week or so. It's been harder in this extreme heat but I feel so much better when I am done.
We had an entire week vacation just Dh and I, kids stayed with the Grandparents. It was so lovely.
And now a very abrupt re-entry back to reality. Brakes totally messed up on one car, late night brake job by DH. Traded in our other car and bought a new car. Annoyed with the booster seats, so I checked the date and outdated, so quick stop at Target at lunch to get new ones. Operation get child to bath and wash his hair is ongoing with some success.
Normal morning routine of trying to keep our cool and losing it when a certain DD will NOT get dressed. Packing all the lunches. I just want to live in vacation world not reality world.
We went on vacation last week to a National Park. It was very relaxing, though DD was pretty amped up the first day. I was a bit stressed about work, but one of my employees handled everything without issue.
I’m planning to ride the bike at the gym over lunch today. Trying to exercise more regularly. We are finally getting a puppy later this month, so exercising him will force me to be active!
Yesterday was DD’s birthday; I’m a bit bummed she didn’t want a party, but she had fun going out for pizza and cake with family. Hard to believe she’s already six.
Things are going pretty well. DD3 asked to do a camp, so I signed her up for a dance camp next week. DD1 started a biweekly social thinking group with another girl who is her age, and so far it's going well. I can't WAIT to go on vacation, but it's still 3 weeks away.
There is very little self-care happening, so I need to work on that.

We have had success using a liquid motion timer to motivate DS to get dressed. He has until the colors run out to get dressed, sometimes we say "there is no way you can get dressed before the colors are gone" and he will race to beat the clock. Other times I tell him he needs to get dressed before the colors run out or he will get a timeout. Both work well depending on the kind of morning we are having.
