We started potty training on Saturday, and it seems like it's going okay. She had one accident yesterday, at daycare. I plan to take her to the store with me on the way home from daycare today, which will be our first post potty training outing, so hopefully that goes well.
She's also decided that she's done with the high chair, so we got risers for one of our regular kitchen chairs.
And she asked for a bed last week after seeing one in a book she was reading. She's growing up all at once!

No plans here. Too hot!
I took E to gym class yesterday, I think she liked it. She explored the different apparatus they had and let the instructor do some bar and beam exercises with her. She also got to play with the other kids, which is all new to her since we've kept her isolated. I wish it wasn't so expensive, but I've sold a lot of her stuff to make a little extra cash so I'm going to sign us up for the summer.
The last 2 nights L has been waking up at 3:30 and 4 after having been sleeping through the night (10p-7a). He's 3.5 months old (2.5 months adjusted), so not sure what's going on. That along with me returning to work... I'm tired, lol.
We finally have our daycare situation sorted out. He'll be going to the daycare attached to my work starting 7/16. So in the meantime my in-laws have been coming up to watch him and DH has been staying home a few days here and there.
No big plans for the 4th. I think we're just going over to a friend's house for a BBQ.

We're in full on party prep mode at our house! G's birthday party is Saturday, and I'm about halfway done with the prep. I have to pick up the crawfish today, the cake tomorrow (we'll do a little cupcake for a smash cake on his actual birthday, which is Thursday), and then get going on the other things I have planned out. I've baked all the cookies, but haven't iced them yet, and I've already made one of the appetizers that just needs cut and baked (currently, it's frozen). I think we're ready, I've made his pendant banner and the fabric banner to go behind it, and I'll pick up a few balloons for the party, but that's about all we're doing for decorations.
That's honestly about it! I can't believe my baby is a year in two short days. Tomorrow will be all the feels at bedtime, I'm sure...I'm just going to snuggle him all night.

I was all blase about H turning one, until we put her to bed the night before her birthday, and then I walked out of the room crying that "I don't want a 1-year old! She's not going to be a baby anymore!"

oneslybookworm, I cannot believe G is almost 1. This is unreal. kellikans, glad you have daycare sorted!
I think S is cutting another tooth. He has been waking crying the last 2 nights and last night needed to be cuddled a little extra. Daycare said he has been a bit fussy too. Other than that he is just RUNNING everywhere and continuing to climb everything he can. He also loves to purposefully drop shit and say "uh oh...." which makes us laugh but is hella annoying.

I know!! It's' blowing my mind as well! He's not walking yet, so that helps me keep him in the "baby" mindset, but it won't be long now. We'll stand him up and let go of his hands, and he's very stead and just SLOWLY lowers himself back down on the floor, so I know he has the balance to do it...he's just a bit scared.
oneslybookworm, one of our friends has a 1.5 year old who did that same thing for MONTHS. She would walk as well, holding on to things, but was terrified to do it on her own.
Sage is the opposite, lol. Nothing scares that kid.

Not gonna lie, I'm actually pretty glad I have a risk adverse kid! Less grey hairs!
oneslybookworm, yeah, I hear you! So far the only thing that scared S was a friend's loud dog. Who is nice but will bark and then be in your face to sniff you. Any other dogs S sees and interacts with are either big and quiet or his own size, so this scares him. But that's all I can literally think of so far haha. HE CLIMBS THE FRIDGE. and his crib. And the bench in his room. The rocker in his room. His toys. He did a pull up to try to get to the top of the dining room table. And if we did not stop him he would just crawl off the edge of the very high bed in our master.
Fortunately he is starting to get the swing of "feet first" to get down things like the couch and stairs, but on the bed it is just so high up he would just crawl right off.

oneslybookworm, shauni27, E has started climbing. She gets up on the windowsill, then cries because she's scared to get down. She's been throwing her leg up on her activity table too. She walks when she feels like it, but I think she's partly a little scared and partly it's easier to crawl (she been crawling since December - she's a pro!).
We've been out of town the last 3 days for my side job. It was j first overnight trip. We took the pnp with us. He did great on the 4 hour drive there and his naps but the 2 nights we stayed were awful. He napped.fine in pnp but woke up 3 times each night and one of those times stayed up for an hour each night. I'm so glad to be home.
Also, I'm not sure if I shared but he started saying mama last week. It's his first word and it melts my heart. He was saying mamamamamamamam for about a week then one day last week he looked at me and said ma....ma. then he giggled and said mama. I love it
Started my new job today. I'm wiped, but I think H is worse. A's daycare provider is on holiday so she's home with him all day. My, how the tables have turned! Actually, she's loving it. Her mama phase is quickly turning into a papa phase. I would feel hurt by it except I had her all to myself for pretty much 2 years, so mostly I'm just glad for the break.
