Not really but I do because others love to. mommyatty, bugs love me to which is why everyone loves me around as I get the bites and the bugs leave everyone else alone.
Anything that is a grilled item seems to work good outside. I also like to sit and eat a bowl of ice cream outside while I'm watering at night.

I like to do all the things every once in awhile. I don't like to do any one thing all the time. So, yes, I'm a picnic person, but I think swatting away bugs from every meal in the sweltering heat would start to suck around day 10 or so.
I'll eat anything grilled, deviled eggs, potato salad, potato chips, and all the beer.
We love to do all things outside. Hamburgers are a favorite, but for a big barbeque, pot luck sides all the way. (We usually have known everyone all our lives, so no worry on cleanliness). Get a few southernish women and an out door barbeque, and you will have broccoli casseroles, hash brown casserole, squash casserole, green beans and ham, pasta salads, macaroni and cheese, seven layer salads, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs, potato salad, frito corn chip salad, corn bread, various pies, chocolate lasagna, cheesecakes, cookies, lemon bars, various cakes, grape salad.....I could really go on for days and not even care about the meat cooking. The only proper way to eat this meal is in a lawn chair under a shade tree.

I love to grill, but I prefer to eat inside. Bugs, heat, having to clean bird poop off the outdoor furniture annoy me.
I love to grill kabobs and hot dogs. I'm not much into hamburgers. I think restaurants do a better job with hamburgers than at home. I started experimenting with grilling pizza last summer and need to do more this summer.

I don't mind eating outside at a table. I don't like literal picnics in the grass though. It's just awkward. Also it's really hot here so unless I'm at a table by the pool or it's during the 2 week period that we call spring here, I prefer tables indoors.
We like to eat outside, but we have to carry everything out, and it's hot and humid, and bugs so we get lazy with it.
I like all the food, but mostly we do stuff involving grilling since the meat is already outside. I mean, I am probably not going to carry an entire Italian dinner outside because too lazy. We did just get a far bigger patio table, so that might help. It is being delivered Saturday.

Yes. I like hot dogs now and I wasn't a big fan when I was younger. I also like BBQ. Pasta salad, potato salad, and cole slaw are must have sides though!
I like to eat outside at the beach - typically fewer bugs than in our backyard. I also like to eat in our screened porch - outside without the bugs.
Favorite foods - a really good burger (mushroom swiss are my fav); steak; DH does sausage, peppers, and onions on the grill for sandwiches, and I just eat the veggies; and my absolute favorite is grilled pizza. The pizza is fun to do for gatherings. We prep all kinds of toppings in advance (sauteed mushrooms, sweet italian sausage crumbles, carmelized onions, slice up veggies, different cheeses, etc.) and lay everything out. DH grills one side of the dough, people take it and add toppings, bring it back to DH, and he melts everything while cooking the other side.
I love to eat outside and grew up eating many many meals on the patio. DH hates it.
Tonight we are having people over to grill and swim and DH wants to eat inside. I don’t get it.
I’m craving jalapeño and honey glazed chicken but we are doing burgers and brats, which will also be good. I may try glazing some burgers at the end of cooking. It sounds good, so worth a shot.
186momx- that’s the funny part- DH crows about the fact that bugs never come near him. But he has an out and out phobia of flying bugs that resemble or sound like bugs that can sting. Bugs LOVE me. And unfortunately they love my kids too.
Eh, if the weather is nice, and the alcohol is flowing, an outside BBQ is nice. I love when people really know how to use a grill but most times, it is super underwhelming. I’m a sucker for summer salads. Vinegar based anything is my jam.
I say yes. I love grilling out. We do brats, hamburgers and I am trying to get DH to embrace the shrimp boil. I also love ribs. Only caveat is that I like the social aspect. Inviting another family over or going to someone else's place. Or tailgating for college football games. That was always fun
Yes I like it. But I think it’s because I grew up in the Midwest where it’s a special treat and even summers can be humid and miserable so CA al fresco dining is amazing.
I’m not picky with the food. A good burger, brat, salad, bbq or whatever is good with me!

I dont love picnics because I dont like sitting on the ground. I can eat outside just fine as long as it's not humid AF out, so bbq's/cookouts are fine. I definitely love the social aspect.
I wish we grilled more. We have an awesome grill that doesn't get enough attention. Dh admitted over the weekend that he uses the grill at work quite often. I wish he would either teach me or do it here.

I love grilling. It's a hugely empowering thing for me, as the meat-burning duties used to be XH's domain, and I knew nothing of how to use/maintain a grill. The first summer when DS and I moved back into our house after living abroad (XH had decided to move to another planet, and since our visas had expired, we came home while XH continued to chase unicorns), it was a big deal for me to clean the gunk off of the old grill and learn how to use it for more than just hot dogs and hamburgers.
My grill is nothing fancy -- just a first gen Weber Baby Q -- but I can do some decent herbed chicken wings on it, Kalbi short ribs, and my favorite is salmon on a cedar plank.
Last year I procured a portable Weber charcoal grill off of my local Buy Nothing group, and I've been playing with that as time allows. I tried doing chicken under a brick on it, but it's a bit small so I had to finish the chicken off in my oven. Memorial day I fired it up for hot dogs, but since the charcoal burns so long, I also grilled a bunch of root vegetables on it, as well as a head of radicchio, for later in the week. It was nice to be able to pull sides out of the fridge all week long.
Also I love eating on our back porch because it doesn't seem to get messy like inside of the house does. My house looks like an episode of hoarders right now. It is not good.
