Today is the Monday-ist Thursday EVER! I'm running my ass off this morning at work and could really use a nap! Yesterday was quiet and it was super stormy, so we laid pretty low. Didn't even bother with going to the fireworks since I was tired and not really in the mood to stay up late when I get up so early!

Yep, today is basically a 2nd Monday. 2 in one week - how lucky are we?

The storms have finally cleared here, but we have some pretty serious flooding and power outages in the area (not our house, but something like 13k people in the city are without power at the moment). Just about every township's fireworks displays were rescheduled to this coming weekend (thankfully, we'll be away and the dogs safely boarded elsewhere, so at least that alleviates my usual concerns about the 4th).

Yesterday we had a pretty chill day. It's been hot as balls, so I had my typical evening riding lesson at 7:30 am...and it was already hot. At least I had the day off, so I came home and slept it off for a few hours, LOL. Then we got REALLY adventurous and replaced our mailbox. Oh, and we braved the outdoors for 15 more minutes to grill some dinner. So there you go - our super dooper patriotic holiday. And then it rained and rained and rained.

I think I'm taking a half day tomorrow - we're going to my high school BFF's wedding in VA this weekend, and I'd like to get my nails done before we drive down. Priorities! She is really lucking out - after a week of gross humid weather, her wedding weekend is going to be in the low 80's and fabulous. It seriously does not get better than that in July in the DC 'burbs.

Happy ThursMonday everyone!

I did exactly nothing yesterday. Slept in and then laid in bed reading until like 1pm. Finally got up and got something to eat and then went and sat by the pool. Came in and showered and put on pjs and plopped myself back on the couch with a book and a glass of wine. No fireworks here either because it rained.

Today I'm working but only half assing it.

We have our new software going live tomorrow, so we're effectively out of work to do. We have a meeting that was sprung on us, so woo hoo?

Yesterday was not the best, a kiddo had increasing abdominal pain so I had to take him to hospital. Thought it was appendicitis, but it's probably a bad case of gastroenteritis.

I was so worried I was going to sleep through my alarms this morning, but luckily I did not. Today isn't too bad yet. One annoying thing is that yesterday I noticed I'm developing an abscess by the root of a tooth, or the space where I had another tooth extracted. This is following a cleaning, and it's the second time it's happened. I'm really annoyed about it and of course no endodontists are available today for me to try to see. Ugh.

doriswe tiramisu, he is doing pretty well! He is eating a little and drinking fluids. I am picking up his prescription after work just to help his tummy settle a bit more.

chalupa, my sister's power was out for 14 hours! She said it came back on just in time for her to leave for work...of course.

We had a quiet 4th. I did some gardening in the AM (waited too long to pick my broccoli and cauliflower, so they were starting to rot...booooo!) and did some work remotely in the afternoon. DH and I enjoyed some adult beverages and lots of time relaxing and chatting yesterday evening, so that was fun! And I got another few rows done on the baby blanket I'm making for my sister.

I FINALLY got approval to go ahead and book my tickets for my work trip to Vietnam! I'll be in Hanoi for a week and HCMC for a week. I am SO excited!
