Purple shampoo

Any recs for a good mid-price range one?

Joico has a few purple shampoos. I like the Color Endure violet (red bottle).

EVO Fabuloso is great, but is about $23 a bottle. Lasts a long time though. Shimmer Lights is less expensive but was very drying to my hair.

On the topic - why is it almost always purple shampoo rather than purple conditioner?

I was wondering the same. Shimmer Lights does make a purple conditioner but it is known that this brand is harsh on hair.

Tanks for this. I was worried the drug store brands would be drying.
I’m thinking of trying a small bottle of the Amika one.

I have the KMS shampoo and conditioner- both are violet. It's OK, a little drying but nowhere near as hard on my hair as Shimmer Lights.

I used Joico when my hair was blond and it was great.

I love the Amika one. That is what my stylist recommended. It's a bit more expensive, but a little goes a long way. I only use it every-other time I shampoo. I've had the bottle for over a year and it's just about to run out.

This was recommended to me, But all the reviews that say the purple gets everywhere scared me. How bad does it stain?!

I just bought the Joico shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo was kind of meh, not as harsh as Shimmer Lights, but the conditioner was pretty good. I was able to comb my hair after my shower without needing a detangler. My hair is definitely less brassy.

My shower is fine sometimes my cuticles/dry spots on my hands are tinted purple but nothing crazy.

I rinse my shower walls while I'm letting the shampoo/conditioner sit. Never had a problem with staining in my white shower with light grout.

I got the Amika shampoo today. My hair is soft, I used the Amika mask for conditioner as I always do. So far so good.
