Hi friends! We’ve officially turned the corner from baby to toddler this month. He’s now a little person with strong opinions and he wants to be independent! He (finally) started walking a couple months ago, he has no problem telling me “no, mama,” and he’s into EVERYTHING. I’m loving this new stage, but it has me nervous for our flight next week. C has flown several times before, but not since turning 1. I’m having a hard time imagining how he’ll sit still in our laps for the 2 hours, especially since he’ll miss nap time.
So far, I’ve downloaded apps and a few Elmo episodes (he’s never used our phones or iPads before, so this may be pretty enticing!). I’ve also bought a few new cheapie toys and books to bring out during the flight. I’ll pack a few snacks. What else?? How does this Benadryl plan work JIC?

We flew with H around that age, and she was fine, just...annoying. She basically crawled back and forth between our laps for the whole flights, or tried to sit on the floor. I think she might have fallen asleep for one of them? Snacks were key. It sounds like you've got a good plan with all of the stuff you have packed for him.
We flew at 18 months. It was during nap time so she slept in my lap for a bit, watched movies for a bit, and we got her some sticker activity books that kept her occupied as well. Lots of snacks and diversions are key!
It will probably suck, but a 2 hour flight is totally doable. I flew solo with A around that time and it was okay. The biggest thing is just to remember it won't last forever. You've got this!

One of the blogs I follow recommends these stickers as a good activity (peel and stick to a piece of paper; not sure if your little guy is able to or into something like that -
I've also seen a suggestion to bring an empty water bottle and little pom poms - kid shoves pom poms in bottle (then mom gets to fish them out, of course!).
