My FET has been scheduled for September 7th due to some scheduling conflicts with my doc.
Is that your transfer itself? Or your predicted CD1? I'm so sorry about the delay and scheduling conflicts-- that's really frustrating. Not a bad time in terms of your school year schedule for potentially giving birth, though, right?

Do I want to know what grades my remaining frozen embryos are? On the one hand it seems like potentially good information to have in terms of risk tolerance for doing additional transfers vs. potentially doing other testing (ERA, hysteroscopy, etc.) On the other hand I know blast grades can shift very quickly after thawing so perhaps it doesn't matter that much.

What would you do?
My RE says as long as they are good or fair, it doesn't really matter. Fair embryos can turn into healthy babies and good embryos can be miscarried. There's zero correlation with PGS normality. I'm not sure I would want to know other than if any of them are 'poor.' ((hugs))

That is a good point. My clinic said they don't freeze poor embryos, so I assume all are either good or fair. There's at least one more AA in there based on what the RE said when she called me about my beta yesterday, and a couple more that are at least ABs or BAs. I don't know why it's bugging me so much.... especially as the one that flopped was a top-graded embryo. The grading is clearly not a deciding factor in aneuploidy.

I always want to know and have all the information. I asked for every bit of prenatal testing that I could have last time, and will again this time. I'm a data freak anyway, and probably too knowledgeable about all of this. I'm that person that requests my medical records for my own information. My second cycle, the embryologist was reluctant to share the grades with me until I insisted and told him that I knew what they meant.
But that's just me.
Fwiw, my son was a 4BB embryo, so average/fair quality. He was the best of that bunch.

This is the transfer. I start my monitoring cycle (whatever that is with a FET) on the 30th of July.

@slk4117 I’m so glad to hear you had a good experience with your first appointment! Having a doctor you trust is so important, and it sounds like he will be relatively accessible to you throughout the process which is something I habe really appreciated about our clinic. It’s great you have a plan you all feel comfortable with so you can move forward.
I don't know if I mentioned it when you were going through all the BS with your insurance, but my friend tried to get her husband to transfer to his company's NJ office to get coverage. He asked and his boss was going to allow it, but then they found out there was some kind of loophole so the company didn't have to cover it, even in NJ, because they were based in PA. I'm like... Okay, I want to work for a company based in Europe so I'll automatically get 6+ weeks of vacation each year and free health care, because that's clearly how this works, right?
Anyway, @slk4117, I just lucked out. I worked a crazy stressful job with an hour commute for a year, but it was based in NJ. I've been milking that COBRA coverage ever since - it's running out in 3 weeks and I'm getting my 4th retrieval (that they will cover) in on Saturday, hopefully. I've still paid for a few meds (ones I need to pick up locally aren't covered by my insurance since I need to use CVS Specialty for them to be covered) and PGS testing OOP, plus a $50 specialty office copay for each visit, but that's it. I am forever grateful.
Does anyone here go to a RESOLVE meetup group? My therapist runs one and I went for the first time last month. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'm going again tonight. There are about a dozen of us in the group, and we even started a group text for updates and support. There are both facilitator groups and peer-led groups, and they're free.

Yes exactly. Headquartered in another state? You’re screwed. Self-insured? No dice. People don’t realize how many employers self-insure. To the average beneficiary it makes no difference. The majority of the time you can’t even tell from reading the plan documents. Except, you know, how they don’t have to comply with state law. Seems fair. This is how even in mandate states the majority of individuals don’t end up with IF coverage.
I will say that in the eastern part of MA there are now a huge number of self-insured employers that have amazingly generous infertility coverage. They’re the only plans I’ve seen in the state that don’t have exclusions for same-sex couples and they even cover sperm and egg donors without restriction which is relatively unusual (my plan does too but only if you have certain male factor or egg related diagnoses). It’s an issue of staying competitive and recruiting employees. But beyond working for these handful of employers people just get screwed. The worst is when I’m helping someone with it and they don’t realize they don’t have coverage and I have to be the one to tell them the nuance of the mandates.
I’m so intensely grateful for my coverage. We hope not to do another retrieval but if we need to the option is there and we would never ever be able to afford more than one round without coverage.
msmerymac so so so much luck for your upcoming retrieval. ❤️
Thank you! I have even more follicles than before. Previously I've ended up with 15, 18 and 19 eggs, and I have over 20 follicles this time. The one doctor in the practice was like, "Whoa! I've never seen your ovary look like that!" So hopefully the human growth hormone will ripen everything appropriately!
So many injections, though. And since I was out of town last week I ended up doing them at random places, like in our car on the Lake Champlain ferry, in my dad's office during a party, and in the parking lot of a pizza restaurant outside Scranton.

I actually called my HR rep today to see what we can do. HQ is in CA, but they evidently give their remote employees insurance based on where they live - so I'm seeing if there's anyway I can be transferred to their CA health insurance. But, that's only if they have existing IF treatments covered. Otherwise, I'm back at square one.
My H is newly self-employed, so he's on my insurance, so unfortunately nothing to fall back on. I make too much to qualify for state subsidized insurance, which is fine, but when I paid for private Florida Blue, they didn't cover jack and it was over $700 a month with a $9k deductible just for me.
If they elect to offer IF coverage, they have to pay for IVF I think... CA’s mandate is weak/weird. This actually could work if so, provided that the company does not self-insure (you should check with HR, hey can tell you). Where you might run into trouble is that I suspect if they offer out of state employees local coverage options its for one of two reasons: either it’s cheaper for them because CA has a lot of health insurance rules, or their provider network is limited and out of state folks wouldn’t have access to in-network providers (which could be a barrier for you in accessing treatment.)
Well, we got back from Iceland and checked my labs. Everything looks great, HSG and CD 3 and 21 labs all came back well within range.
H's SA came back and it doesn't look great. Motility at 33%- (notes said non-progressive) Morphology 3% Everything else, count, concentration etc. came back on the lower end of normal range.
We go in for a joint consultation next week. I could be wrong about these numbers looking abysmal but from Google and the reference ranges provided on the labs I'm guessing that's wishful thinking.

If you are able to do IVF, it does sounds like you are a great candidate for IVF with ICSI.

I’ve never heard of this, but I could really use some in-person support.

Thank you, I was just reading about that. H and I are both rocked, we're very lucky to have savings that would cover a cycle or two but it's kind of hard to accept at this stage that we're probably going to have to do this to have the family we want. I'm sure you all felt similarly.

I'm pretty sure my H had similar results (Or morph was 2%, something crazy). IVF with ICSI worked well for us.
Is anyone in the Ta*mpa/St. P*ete area? I need an RE recommendation. I got my promotion and we'll be moving in August. Eek! I can't believe we're doing this.

A friend told me about them, but I've also started seeing the therapist who runs the group. Finding a counselor who specializes in infertility is also really helpful. Good luck.
gerder3, please hang in and don’t despair! MH’s numbers were at least that low, and we were successful in getting pregnant with IUI, IVF with ICSI, and ultimately on our own. He took Clomid for a while, which helped improve his numbers as well.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
