My weekend was a lot of fun. I saw Hidden Figures at an outdoor showing and the whole experience was great.
Saturday was the pride parade in my city so I watched that then helped my friend make sure his apartment was set up for his party. The parade was so long, we couldn't make it through the whole thing. We were reapplying sunscreen more often than every 2 hours! I managed to only get a little pink/red.
Yesterday I watched the World Cup final game (the end of it) and then ran some errands. The big excitement was getting a furminator to use on my cats. In the evening I went to the pride festival and saw TLC perform. They were amazing!
Weekend was quiet, unfortunately. Friday night I hung out with the kids. Then I woke up at 3:30 AM struggling to breathe, which lead to some panicky moments. Turns out I've got a fun respiratory thing. I got a prescription for prednisone, which helped but then I couldn't sleep on Saturday. Both kids are feeling kinda gross, so we all just hung around the house watching Netflix. I felt better on Sunday, so I ran some errands, did some house stuff and got a pedi. I'm just glad it was this weekend and not next weekend, since I'll be out of town at my friend's bachelorette party.
Oh hey! It was SUPER DOOPER HOT and humid out, so of course I did a ton of gardening this weekend, LOL. I went a little crazy at our local nursery, and then had to plant everything I'd dragged home (2 varieties of hydrangea - one shrub and one climbing, a fabulously draped/arching juniper, a few different salvia, some foxglove, purple coneflowers, some shasta daisies...). Now I just have to remember to water it all, LOL.
I am convinced I also need a tree hydrangea to round out my collection. It's probably best to wait for fall/spring to plant a tree, though - this heat would make it tough to survive.
My new horse trailer finally rolled in at 7am (yuck!) this morning. Straight from the factory...6 weeks after it was supposed to arrive. Apparently they got backlogged with orders or something. Anyhow, it's shiny and fabulous and just what I was hoping for. Owen better enjoy his custom-built rolling Taj Mahal - that sucker even has fans installed so that he can feel the wind in his mane on hot days.
Owen has some skin funk going on and has lost most the hair on his back to the scabbing process, so he has enjoyed a week off and only had to suffer through an occasional betadine bath instead of actual work. Unfortunately for him, the vet is rolling in tomorrow with some antihistamines and antibiotics, so his vacation time is coming to an end. I look forward to not having a horse who looks like he's covered in mange, lol.

Feel better soon, doriswe! Your landscaping sounds beautiful, chalupa!
I started making the frosted sugar cookies for favors for my sister's shower. Let's just say that my lack of talent in drawing with pen and paper translates to a lack of talent in decorating with frosting. I have some more details to add tonight or tomorrow night, and we'll see if they look passable, but with the results so far, I'm probably heading back to the drawing board later this week to try the unfrosted ones--they looked a little easier to make!
Oh, and you know what I did at 11:30pm last night? Impulse booked a vacation to Punta Cana in September. With trip insurance, because hurricane season. Now I'm wondering if we can go ahead and get our PADI certification done while we're there - we should have just enough time for the pool and open water dives.

Weekend was relaxing, which I needed. Went to yoga and ran. Binged watched the rest of season 2 of 13 Reasons Why. Laid on the couch and read a lot. I spent over an hour in Barnes and Noble. Work is getting insane again so was looking for a book on mindfulness and being in the present. So if anyone has any good suggestions, feel free to throw them out! I also had a family picnic as my aunt was in from OOT.
My moan is that I have to travel for work this week and I really don't want to. Three days of all day meetings. Yuck.
bullygirl979 I really like Dr. Rick Hanson's writing on his blog and in his Just One Thing emails. I know he's written multiple books, but I don't know how they are.
There are a couple books I've seen on Amazon that look like they could be good. The two that piqued my interest, though I've read neither: Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams and Danny Penman Real World Mindfulness for Beginners: Navigate Daily Life One Practice at a Time by Brenda Salgado
