Busy week for the first time in a while. Finally feeling like myself again and mostly recovered.
Today - groceries, stopping in to say hi to my fellow volunteers, and Prime Day! I finally finished up thank you notes this morning so glad to have that off my to do list. Tomorrow - doctor's appointment and C is one month old! Rest of the week - preparing for a consignment sale, going to the library, finishing up DH's birthday presents, making a cake
IL's arrive on Friday for DH's birthday weekend so should be a fun time.
And a huge GOOD LUCK to HoneySpider as baby #2 arrives! I'm so excited for you guys!

ewall- I can’t believe C is already 1 month old!! Happy bday to your DH!
suzv- glad you are feeling better! Good luck with your finances!
HoneySpider- hope all goes smoothly for you this week! Congrats on baby #2! Can’t wait to find out the gender!!
Not much going on this week! It’s our last week before I start randomly watching two other boys (only 2-3x/month but that will get busy enough once C is back in preschool)!
Today: groceries, bagels, dinner, doing some work for my dad during nap time!
No plans the rest of the week! Need to go to Costco and Walmart, going to the lake a couple times in the morning, my dad is coming by one afternoon to play tball/throw and then Yogurtland. I need to run a few times.
Ugh, high anxiety with knowing I can test this week.
H's birthday is on Wednesday! Also on Wednesday I'm meeting up with my work friend- we co-taught a few classes together last year- for a playdate. His twins are 6 months older than A.
E's birthday is today! 3 years old! We had his party yesterday and I think it was a huge success.
Nothing really special this week other than today. E has his annual well check Wednesday. I think we will restart him in swim lessons because he's been scared to swim without floaties lately.
Good luck grover, whether you are testing or waiting it out! Wasn't sure if you would test this week so didn't want to call you out earlier in the thread
suzv Good luck with your finances. It’s great that you both recognize that something needed to change, so you can both be on the same page! You’ve got this

Nothing until this weekend as usual. Sun we have a birthday party and possibly a family get together. MIL's cousin is here from Poland (they visit every summer) and we usually do a get together but this year so far not a lot of people have said they're going. I told him we could go if they do it later but the birthday party is at 10 and this is supposed to start at 11:30. Same general area but still.. going to be hard to convince E to stay at the birthday party for a shorter time if they make it later!

I'm having a baby this week! Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes! I'm scheduled for a RCS Wed morning, but at my appt this morning I was 2-3cm (after being 1 cm a week ago) and baby has dropped really low so there's still a chance s/he could come on their own. We'll see! Either way I am excited to meet LO.
suzv I'm so sorry. Finances are so rough and it's a hard, hard habit to break as a spender. DH and I have been having similar conversations lately.
I had jury duty today. G was up sick in the middle of the night so DH ended up staying home with the girls. I was only up at the court house a little over an hour before being released. A plea deal was taken at the last minute so we were dismissed. It went as well as it could have.
DH got so much done while he was home today. He also got insurance quotes and we switched auto insurance. He got it set up for us to save almost $900 a year for better coverage! So glad to finally have that checked off our to do list.
We have a fairly quiet week. DS1 finishes up swim lessons and we leave on Friday for H's family reunion. It's just Friday-Sunday, so it's a pretty short trip.
We had friends over on Saturday, so we were finally able to get our downstairs to a pretty clean place and I really hope we can keep it up. It's so easy for stuff to pile up and it's out of control before I know it.
wineandcheese did you hear anything back from last week's interviews?
suzv I wish I had better advice on how to break the cycle. For us, it was the economy tanking in 2008 and DH being unemployed that finally woke us up. I will say that only using one joint card is a strategy that works for us. When I use my personal cards or store cards, I tend to lose track easily or forget that I spent until the bill arrives. Annoys the crap out of me when I get an unexpected bill so I stick to the joint card which keeps me somewhat more accountable. And I'm sorry you're stressed about it - don't beat yourself up, it's pretty common.
HoneySpider OMGICANNOTWAITTOFINDOUTWHATTHEGENDERIS!!!!! Gah, I'm not going to be able to focus tomorrow! LOLOLOL
Same ole here....super busy. DS's party is this weekend. I've prepped all decorations and things. I just have to steam his outfit and set out the food at this point....oh, and blow up balloons. Fingers crossed we get no surprises. I wish I knew if my Bro/SIL and their kids were coming...this are they/aren't they divorce thing is just wild...I have zero idea how to navigate it. If you contact her, "They're fine." If you message him, "He's done." SO many variables.....
DH was up sick the night before last so he spent yesterday at home with us. Thankfully everyone is healthy today and he was able to go back to work. Tomorrow my mom offered to watch the girls for a little bit in the morning and I'm going to speed clean as much as I can while I have an empty house.
Speaking of financing I spent way too much money on Amazon Prime day. I sighed up for prime the day before it started, lol. But I saved $180 on an instapot, Fitbit Alta, and a nutribullet. My original magic bullet died after having it for 11 years so I had planned to get that anyways but the other two were impulse purchases, that I’ve been looking at for a while. I’m hoping that the instapot will help us save money by not eating out as much, but also help us eat healthier.

I had such a great day yesterday! H and I went to a few breweries that were pretty good. While at one H was on FB and saw one of my old partner’s wife checked in at a hotel where we are living now! We got to meet up with them! It was just what I needed!
I told H we need to find other things to do besides breweries or brew hubs, I’m getting tired of drinking. Words he never thought I would say.
I decided to take a CNA course next month. Apparently there is a demand here for them and the pay isn’t bad, a little less then I was making in NY, so after talking with H, he told me to do it. There are add on certifications that I can do too to get closer to where I want to be. I have had a bunch of places want to hire me once I get my emt here but I don’t want to ride a rig anymore. I just plan on getting my emt for something I can fall back on if needed.
