My word for 2018 is: Content - In a state of peaceful happiness. I spent this year focused on being present, and it feels like it would make sense for the next step to be focusing on being content in the present.
I feel like this has gone fairly well for me, so far. There have definitely been ups and downs in my ability to find contentment this year, so I'm working on trying to remind myself to have patience, live in the present, and give life time to happen.
Regular Goals: Read 30 books. - I think I'm on track for reading 30 books, but I also haven't really been keeping a tally of them. I probably should be, but if I get to the end of the year and feel like I read that many, I'm going to call it good. Gain at least one professional certification. - I'm in the process of studying for a professional certification. We'll see if I actually get around to taking it. Continue making improvements with my anxiety. - This has been very up and down. I was doing better, but I've taken quite a few steps back because of pregnancy-related anxiety. I stopped seeing my therapist when she switched offices, so I'm trying to get in touch with her now to get an appointment scheduled. Clean up my diet - less sugar, less takeout, less frozen food, etc. - Again, this one has been up and down. I was doing really well... then first trimester happened. lol. Pay off the loan we took out for our kitchen remodel. - Probably not going to happen. We could, but we're thinking we'd rather spend the money on yard repairs and bulking up our savings account.
Stretch Goals: Get on a plane again and/or have tickets purchased for a future trip. - Definitely not going to happen. MAYBE we'll have a plan for a future trip by the end of the year, but I doubt we'll have tickets purchased. Pay off the loan on one of our vehicles. - I don't see this happening, either. Find a church to attend semi-regularly. - I keep putting this off, but I'm still hoping to accomplish this one. Read 40 books. - I think this one is still achievable. Again, though, I haven't been counting so it will probably be more of a guesstimate at the end of the year/
H&F Goals: Complete Project Mass workout program. - No. Yoga workouts an average of 3x/week. - This is my only achievable H&F goal at this point, so I need to get back on track with this one. Deadlift 150 lbs (5 reps). - No. Squat 150 lbs (5 reps). - No. Bench Press 100 lbs (5 reps). - No. 5 unassisted pull-ups. - No. Run a 5k. - No.
I didn't post in the other thread, but here they are:
- Get pregnant, and if not, work on accepting OAD due to IF: waiting on betas tomorrow, but the PG tests all say I'm PG! - Read 15 books: Already read 20!! - Declutter house: work in progress - Convert office loft to playroom: Done, however office is not reassembled yet. - Pick up main level (including dishes) every night before bed: we're probably at 3-4 nights a week successful. Going to make more of an effort once school starts back up

-Be more intentional with spending time with DH. Along these lines, go on at least 5 dates outside the house
I would say I am doing ok here. I think we have gone out at least 2x as well, maybe more.
-Get back to running 2-3 days/week
Mostly consistent with this.
-Lose 10 lbs
This one is so frustrating. I think either my thyroid or BFing is affecting this because I am actually up, despite running more (and no it’s not all muscle LOL), not doing Starbucks as often, and overall eating better. I hope it reverses by the end of the year. My thyroid has only been good for less than two months now so there’s hope.
-Take the boys to Disneyland at least 10x this year
I think they have gone 7-8 times so far and I have gone once without them! We have a CA Adventure day planned for 8/10 so this goal should be met!
-Plan and go on a family vacation
We did it!! It hardly felt like vacation though LOL. Still a lot of fun!
-Be better at encouraging DH in his career even if it means he won’t be around to help as much.
Doing this without much success on his end. He hates his job but doesn’t want to change yet.
-go to the following appointments: dentist, ultrasound/mammogram, new gynecologist. Also, start taking my thyroid med regularly (which will probably help me lose my 10 lbs LOL).
Done!
- start C in preschool
Done! He goes back next month too! So glad we started him because it helped him a lot!
