Daycare said they think DS has thrush and I'm pretty sure I do too (BFing). He is eating and acting normal but should I go to urgent care tonight? Call his ped in the morning? Will his ped also treat me? I do not have a family dr so I have no idea who would prescribe me drugs if his ped doesn't do it... My OB or urgent care?

I would call your pedi and the ob or midwife tomorrow. I just got over this. I don't think my daughter got it in her mouth, but I had it on my nipples. They had me apply clotrimazole cream which is over the counter and used for athlete's foot. I applied after each feeding and then washed my nipple before and after feeding with a mixture of vinegar and water. I used disposable nursing pads and replaced after each feeding and let my nipples air out a ton. My midwife also prescribed nystantin liquid for my daughter.
Thanks! I called the ped nurse line and she is calling in the nystantin medicine for DS and suggested to call my OB tomorrow. she said sometimes they recommend the mothers to put the same medicine on their nipples but to check tomorrow with my OB.
I figured I would need to sterilize everything, so thanks for the link!

Ditto the clotrimazole cream -- it's sold as Lotrimin AF. I know it seems so odd to put athlete's foot cream on your nipples (that go in your kid's mouth!), but it really works. Treat it ASAP because if it gets bad, it gets bad fast and it's hard to get rid of. I'd always wipe it off before nursing, but you don't have to -- it won't hurt the baby.
When I used to deal with it (a LOT, sadly), I would both sterilize everything and follow with a vinegar wash (just rinse in white vinegar). The vinegar was supposed to kill yeast.
